We are going away this week and the place has a hot tub. What do people think about using a hot tub during the 2ww?
Thank you

Hello. I used a hot tub during our 2ww, I'm now 30 weeks pregnant. I'm not sure what the official advice is, but it didn't do us any harm, I just didn't stay in for too long.

I asked this because we will be skiing during the 2ww and the house has a lovely hot tub with an amazing view. But unfortunately my research made me think probably best not to risk it. It basically said early on the higher heat can make changes in the development in baby. It’s only early on. After first trimester it’s okay to use it for short time (as long as you don’t over heat). Google it and you will get your answer. Although, not sure if during the 2 ww wait it poses a real risk.

Definitely not! Pretty much the only consistent thing I was told when trying to get pregnant (fertility problems) by nurses was NOT to have baths, and especially not hot baths so I personally wouldn’t!!

Nellabella, whats wrong with taking a bath? Does that effect fertility? I take baths every day! I thought it was fine, as its not as hot as a hot tub, also I do not stay in that long - probably 10 minutes. I have seen a few comments on here about people not taking baths when trying. Now I am wondering if I should stop this!

I did take baths every day as well when I got pregnant with my first, in fact I took baths twice a day (pregnant first cycle and one try)! For my second it was the same, first cycle first try...although baths were not every day...as I would skip bath/shower all together some days because I had a baby to look after.

Now we are going for a third and I keep reading about not having baths....so its making me wonder.

It's fine. Drink till it's pink, hot tub till it's pink. Basically live as normal unti it's pink!

OP, I think its because it raises your core body temp which you will be advised during early pregnancy to avoid doing and to avoid baths and take showers instead.
