TTC baby no. 2 and first time with OPKs... advice? Reassurance?

Hi all.

We have a 2 year old DD and recently started TTC for a second child. Strange thing is for our first baby, we conceived first month of trying, but had a miscarriage. When we tried again we conceived first month of trying again! And nine months later DD was born. So I figured we're both quite fertile!

But now 2 years later, we've tried 3 months so far and had no luck. Is this normal? To go from so quick before to just not so quick now? We're DTD every other day for the whole month!

Second question is that since I'm so confused over why it hasn't worked so far, I bought an OPK to ease my mind a bit. But I've never used them before. Is testing once a day enough? When should I start? My period ended 2 days ago so I'm on cycle day 7 already.

@PaPica I would start testing now if I were you. You may ovulate early. I usually test once a day until I get to nearer cd10 or when I start to notice a line appearing. Then test twice a day asits easy to miss the positive line otherwise.
Well anything up to s year is considered normal so I wouldn't worry yet.

Even with perfect timing and everything in working order it’s something like a 30% chance of conceiving each cycle, so don’t panic!

I do the same as Pasta - one OPK a day till the line gets a bit dark, then will do one in the afternoon one in the evening till I get a positive.
