Dear ladies of Mumsnet, what do you make of this? I’ve been trying to conceive for 3 months, have been using Clearblue digital OPKs. I normally have a fairly regular 28 day cycle ovulating on day 16.

This cycle something strange was happening, it was as if my body kept gearing up to ovulate but didn’t. I kept getting highs but no peak and then finally got peak/LH surge readings a week later than usual (day 23). I wasn’t sure if I had ovulated for real as I hadn’t had any ovulation pains. Have not been temping.

Now day 35 of my cycle, my period is a week late, no other symptoms. I kept taking pregnancy tests but all were negative until this morning, when on a Boots HCG test I thought I could see a very faint second line. I had other brands of test so tried them... Sainsbury’s test was negative, but then I took a Clear Blue digital test and to my surprise it said ‘Pregnant - 1-2 weeks’.

So - am I? Which test should I believe? I guess the only answer is ‘wait and test again’ but I am now on tenterhooks.

I am 41, never had a child. If this is for real and the pregnancy continues I will be beyond overjoyed.

Please help me calm down and wait for a definite test!

Test again tomorrow morning first pee. I have heard good things about tesco own brand tests.

If you got a positive digital I’d say you were definitely pregnant

Thank you both! I hope so, Lymphy!

Oh gosh. I think you're having a baby! Test again in a couple of days.

Turned out to be what I think was a chemical pregnancy... tests stayed very faintly positive for 5 days but without the line getting any darker, then I started getting lots of cramps, then I started my period. I’m aware to watch for signs of an ectopic but feel okay so far. Seeing GP first thing tomorrow, will see what they say.
