Appendicitis

This is relevant(ish)

Has anyone here ever had appendicitis and did it feel anything like ovulation pain? I've had "ovulation pain" for two weeks now- used the sticks and actually ovulated bang on day 14 as usual, but had pain for a week before and still a week later. Wondering what's wrong with me!

I had suspected appendicitis. I was vomiting (from the pain). Paracetamol didn't touch it either...

Unexplained pain that goes on this long should be investigated though. Gp.

You would be in agony, possible fever and paracetomol wouldnt shift it, also sickness. Sounds like ovulation pain or could be a cyst or even endometriosis, trip to the GP maybe. Keep a diary and raye the pain out of 10. Eg today pain was unbarable 9 out of 10. Or pain was ok today just in the background, about 5 out of 10

Diary is always helpful to see if there is a pattern in pain around certain days within the month etc

I had suspected appendicitis (turned out to be serious UTI) I was doubled over, high fever and no appetite. At the time we weren't TTC so not sure about ovulation pains.

I’ve had appendicitis and it’s truly the worst pain I’ve ever felt. Utterly excruciating! I was on antibiotics and painkillers (they suspected a UTI) which didn’t begin to deal with the pain - I couldn’t even turn over in bed and needed help to sit up. I almost passed out trying to get to the car to go to A&E and had to be wheeled in when I got there. It is absolutely nothing like the niggles I get when ovulating (in my opinion anyway)
If you suspect pains may be appendicitis, please go straight to your GP and persevere until it’s fully investigated. Mine took a GP visit, 2 hospital admissions and an emergency exploratory operation before they were discovered, gangrenous, on the verge of bursting, on the wrong side. Luckily I’d told everyone my Gran had had the same issue, so they checked both sides!
Please seek medical advice if your concerned.

I've had appendicitis and I've had ovarian/fallopian cysts. What you are describing reminds me of the pain I felt/feel when a cyst is making its presence known.
Definitely a trip to the docs needed.
Good luck. X

Ovulation pains are like kittens licking you compared to the pain from appendicitis. While it's not always unbearable, it's certainly strong and always present unlike the ovulation pains that usually come and go. If you're in severe pain, you may want to address that as soon as possible.
