Missed Cerazette pill-help

Hi. Posted on family planning thread but no responses so posting here for traffic.

I
started Cerazette nearly four weeks ago (pack due to finish on Tuesday). I realised yesterday that I forgot to take Fridays pill. Did the deed Wednesday night. I've had cramps since last night and some spotting today.

I know my period would be usually due this Wednesday so I'm not sure is the spotting related to this. When I was on Cerazette before I never had any bleeding.

Do you think I could get pregnant? I know to use condoms for 48 hrs after missed pill. But now I'm worrying that sperm from Wednesday could still be alive* *.

Can missing one Cerazette pill trigger ovulation?!?

Help! I have an 8 month old and no plans to have another any time soon.*

Yes it can that’s why it’s so strict with window periods etc, that drop in progesterone could trigger an ovulation however it might not have, there’s no way to know. You could take Ella one tomorrow morning after pill effective up to five days after sex or get an Copper Coil fitted if there’s any availability, don’t beat yourself up it’s easily done try and access your local contraception service tomorrow if you can or GP for future if this happens again on a weekend you can go to a pharmacy or ring 111 to get emergency contraception, if you don’t manage to get anything tomorrow, take your pill as normal and take a test in a couple of weeks,

I forgot to say it works by thinning the uterine lining and thickening cervical mucous to stop those pesky sperms getting in so if you missed you pill Friday but took it properly prior to this and had sex wed you’ll have had the thickening of the mucous aspect so should have prevented any getting through if that makes sense so that good x

Thank you @Lymphy. I seem to be having a period now. And I usually have a sharp ovulation pain. Haven't noticed this so fingers crossed I'm okay 🙏🏻
