We don’t smoke, rarely drink, have cut back on caffeine, we still need to lose more weight but trying hard.......

You may also want to look into the absorption of your supplements and review them with your doctor. For example, CoQ10 or ubiquinol absorbs better in a water and fat-soluble form. And, vitamin D, is better when the dosage is tailored to what you need based on your lab results.

Gobletoffire · 12/12/2018 20:35

We used pre-seed lubricant and had sex every day for a week around my fertile window. I also used ovulation sticks and had been using an app for a few months before TTC to track my cycle. We got pregnant first month of trying. X

I was having really irregular periods after coming off the pill and put it down to PCOS. Took us 1 year to conceive. I did the following:

  • Took Pregnacare Conception the whole year
  • Started off using Clearblue ovulation tests but was getting too many peaks so swapped to the cheap onestep OPKs from Amazon as these worked fine for me
  • Did the above for quite a few months but nothing was happening
  • Started tracking bbt as well as doing OPKs every few days for the last 3 cycles (my cycles were 60/70 days!)
  • Last couple of months before conceiving we used pre-seed and I think we used this when we actually conceived
  • A few months before conceiving I was taking inositol
  • A month before conceiving I went on a low carb diet (to try to address PCOS)
  • A month before conceiving I started taking omega 3 capsules also
  • I was trying to exercise regularly throughout, at least 30 mins a day even if it was walking
  • Our last month we really upped the amount of times we DTD - we did it 3 times in my fertile window whereas previous months we were so busy with work we were doing it once or twice or missed it completely as I had irregular cycles!
  • I even bought pots to do at home insemination if we weren't feeling in the mood so one of the three times where we possibly conceived was from home insemination. It is good if either of you are getting tired from the amount of DTD!

IVF + ICSI. If you want to get the lowdown on what's proven/suspected/bollocks try the infertility board, that's the best place to ask for advice rather than on a place where anecdotal evidence rules supreme. If there was genuinely a special position etc. then it'd be common knowledge.

What tests have you and your DH had? Important thing to note is that even if either of you already has a child it's no guarantee that you're still fertile.

HavelockVetinari · 12/12/2018 20:57

Although having said that there are obvious things you can do, for example if either of you is overweight or underweight that's a common cause of poor fertility, as are smoking, taking insufficient exercise and (for him) drinking too much.

Beach11 · 12/12/2018 21:11

Becoming less stressed and healthier. Fell pregnant 3 times during the quietest 6 weeks at work.

Sparky888 · 12/12/2018 21:23

Natural cycles and recognising the feeling and stretchy mucus of ovulation, then DTD as soon as I noticed it. Good luck x

siblingrevelryagain · 12/12/2018 21:32

Sperm meets egg plan (google it). Pregnant first time every time (x 4); I also think this is why I conceived boys as I ovulate early in my cycle.

I have friends who have also followed this plan and its worked.

bedtimestories · 23/12/2018 17:25

Sorry OP for delay i think I had two sessions at my local collage. Hope you get the results you want soon

Hofuckingho · 23/12/2018 17:28

Absolutely loads of sex.

Matildatoldsuchdreadfullies · 23/12/2018 17:29

Mostly, it's just blind luck.

TheSubtleKnifeAndFork · 23/12/2018 18:24

First time TTC I got pregnant the first month I used the Clearblue Advanced monitor. Could well be a total coincidence though and we had been trying a normal amount of time when I fell pregnant (less than a year), so could just have been our month. Regardless I certainly preferred it to cheap OPKs - much less faff and guesswork involved. Don't regret the money I spent on it at all.

I'd also recommend a conception friendly lube (preseed or conceive plus).

I also took my BBT so I actually understood when I had ovulated, and tracked cervical mucus. I had irregular cycles, so that really helped to understand how my body was working.

Second time TTC we just had sex when I had fertile CM. We got pregnant really quickly, which astounded me TBH.

workinprogressmum · 23/12/2018 21:43

Took us 16 months. Stopped bothering with ovulation sticks and had sex 2-3 days over the Christmas period (both off work for two weeks and less stress). Conceived on Christmas Eve.

Hoping it will be quicker next time!!

mumtobexx · 23/12/2018 21:53

@workinprogressmum
I hope you are my baby dust as I also conceive on Christmas Eve according to my fertility app which is accurate!!
Hopefully you're all the luck I need lol. Fingers crossed

Merry Christmas to you all zzzz

6 months trying. On the month we conceived i didn't get a positive on the clear blue digital test. I roughly followed SMEP but as I didn't get a positive I had sex 5 days in a row around my usual ovulation, used fertility lube and took raspberry leaf.

Blueflower22 · 23/12/2018 22:53

Hey, Has anyone had lower back ache or tailbone pain in there early pregnancy days for previous pregnancies?

Jent13c · 23/12/2018 23:05

After over 2 years I decided it wasnt going to happen, quit my job and started studying full time. Went on holiday. We had sex once that month, think it might have been around ovulation but wasnt charting, didn't use preseed, didn't put my legs up etc. etc.
Totally totally understand how you are feeling just now, I can honestly say it was the darkest time of my life. But there a lot of people ready to sell their wonder cures to women desperate to finally have a baby in their arms and very few are actually backed by medical evidence and research.

spugzbunny · 24/12/2018 07:55

@Blueflower22

I always get tailbone pain before a period. Early pregnancy symptoms and period symptoms are almost identical. If you are getting pregnancy symptoms then your hormones are strong enough to show on a test. First Response Early Response are the most sensitive. I hope you get the result you want!

Teachermummy83 · 26/12/2018 04:16

This month I’ve added evening primrose oil in on top of the his n’ hers conception vitamins. I’ve also started drinking grapefruit juice daily which I’d say definitely increased CM. We managed to DTD every 2nd day during fertile week and got a feint BFP yesterday morning. Let’s juat hope this one sticks 🤞🏼

TiaOscura · 26/12/2018 12:47

I fell pregnant within 1 month of trying and later within 2 months. Who knows how much of it is luck, but here's what we did:

Stopped drinking alcohol
Stopped smoking and nicotine products
Cut down junk foods
Ate lots of whole foods
Exercised
Lost weight
Tried to reduce stress
DH took Wellman male multivit
I took Naturelo prenatal vit
