Miscarriage or perimenopause?

Bit of a weird one really. Usually have regular as clockwork cycles around 26 days long. Don’t use protection as DH and I aren’t worried if ‘that’ happens or not.

Last month however had this weird short period lasting just 24hrs. Seemed ‘proper’ though not just spotting with horribly sore boobs. Usually boobs are not that bad and the sore boobs did not go after the period as usual but stayed for 2 weeks then all of a sudden I had what seemed to be a period only 14 days after the first.

Only thing is I’m also getting to that age that perimenopause could kick in (42) so thinking it could possibly be that but suspecting the other. Views?

In the absence of a positive test, it's literally impossible to say. Did you take a test?

If your period seemed 'normal' before this short time between bleeds, pregnancy is generally less likely. It's not a terrible idea to get seen, as bleeding 'between periods' is one of those things they like to investigate/ see you about so they can see if happens again.

Is your smear up to date?
