Hi all, would you say a 24 day cycle is too short to concieve?

No.

Blondemother · 04/12/2018 11:31

I think it depends when you ovulate and then how long your luteal phase is - do you know?

Fae28 · 04/12/2018 12:27

12 days is fine for Luteal Phase I think.

I’m sorry it’s taking it’s time to happen for you, have you and your partner thought about getting checked out if it’s been around a year of trying?

Fae28 · 04/12/2018 13:13

Yea were both going through the process now. Just wish it hadn't got to this point.

Hi @Fae28, we're very similar. My cycles are between 24 and 26 days. I ovulate around cd11-13 and have been trying a year. We've just been to the GP to start the ball rolling for tests. Had my cd21 mycd19) done today.

My sisters cycles are 22 days and she has 2 little ones. When she was pregnant with her first she waited a week to test and saw the GP and he said but you're only cd28 it's too early but she had a definite positive and no issues. She conceived wurhun 8 months first time and 3 months second time.

Fingers crossed for us both Flowers

@VenusStarr its devastating each month isnt it. What blood tests did you have? Theyre testing for about 10 things on mine including bone profile?? Which i thought was odd

It is @Fae28 although I've felt a bit better this month after seeing the doctor. Almost like having a plan that's outside of my control has helped.

I've done cd21 blood test today and if (most likely when) I come on next week I'll do the cd1-5 bloods. Just looking at my form for next week, he's requested:

Full bloods
FT4C Free T4
(LHC1) LH
(THSC) thyroid function test
(FER) Ferritin
(HBA1C) screening sample
(PROLC) Prolactin
(UE) U/E and Xreatinine/EGFR (renal)
(FSHC) FSH
(TESC) Testosterone

Then serology investigations and rubella screening

Also having swabs in 2 weeks and an ultrasound. Dh is going for semen analysis in January.

Is the bone profile thing in your blood test?

Fae28 · 04/12/2018 14:06

@VenusStarr it does doesnt it. Takes the pressure off. Im sure we will both be pregnant withing 2019 🤞🤞

Your doctor sounds a lot more informative. Mine have just sent me for bloods, like they havnt told me when to ring for results or anything.

Yea bone profile, liver test and another one i didnt think was related to infertility lol

What are your swabs for?

OP posts:
VenusStarr · 04/12/2018 16:36

It's called triple swabs @Fae28, I'm not 100% sure to be honest. He just said I'll book you in for this, this and this! I'm due a smear as well (what joy being a woman!) so he said that I need to get the swabs first then my smear.

I did say to dh after, look at all these tests I have to have and you can have some nice time with a plastic pot!

My bloods should be back in 3/4 days - I asked the phlebotomist today. Have you had yours? Fingers crossed they'll show ovulation.

I really hope both of us have happy news in 2019 :)

Blondemother · 04/12/2018 17:27

Fae28 - sorry to state the obvious then! I hope 2019 is your year x
