Coming off the pill to TTC

Hi all, I have been on the combined pill for around about 12 years with no break. I am
planning on finishing my current packet at the end of this month to start TTCing from January. I’m curious about other ladies experiences of coming off the pill to get pregnant as I have heard mixed things. A close friend recently told me she had stopped taking the pill, had a withdrawal bleed and then got a BFP straight away. I have also heard other ladies saying it took months for their cycles to return to normal and to expect it to take 6 months. I know how long TTC can depend on various factors but just interested to know what experiences ladies have had of this.

I came off the pill end on August, had my first period end of September and my cycles have been pretty bang on each month, around 29 days.
Started TTC when came off the pill, no luck yet but have had an op so it's been on pause for a while.
Hope your cycle sorts out quickly for you and you get that BFP!

@GillyJ1984 I came off the pill in April/May and my periods seemed to have stayed regular (after 15 year). They're actually shorter in duration now than when I was on the pill.

I think we're on cycle 4 of TTC.

I came off, had my first proper period 6 weeks later and then fell pregnant after that

Withdrawal bleed after 2 days. Light period (VERY light) 26 days after that, BFP the following cycle.

My friend, however, has been off the pill for 2 years almost and is still waiting for her BFP.

I came off in September. Finally had my first bleed last week. I'd recommend just stopping your pack now to give your body time of it's need it before j an.

@user1493413286 my first period tool a while like yours too. Did you have a second period? Or get pregnant. Did you track ovulation to help you as your cycles were irregular?

@GillyJ1984 I came off the pill after being on it for over a decade. I got a withdrawal bleed but my regular AF never returned because AF was conceived in the first month. I went back on the pill awhile after DS was born and have stopped taking it berg recently and ttc DC2. I’ve had a withdrawal and also one natural period and due my second soon. I’m not sure I’ll be nearly as lucky as this first time this time around! Good luck

First time I got pregnant straight after coming off the pill, no withdrawal bleed or period which was a bit of a shock. This time I came off the pill in January, periods didn't start up until March and got my BFP last month. So it definitely varies!
