BFN 13dpo but implantation bleeding...?!

Hi..
I just wanted a little advice and maybe I’m still clutching at straws that I might be pregant, I don’t know...
I tested at 10dpo and got a BFN then I’ve held off testing until today (13dpo) with a FRER test and it’s still BFN. However, the thing is, since yesterday morning (early hours) I’ve had some on and off brown spotting sometimes a little in my knickers and sometimes just there when I wipe and then next wipe it’s gone (sorry if TMI) that is totally NOT what my period ever looks like (it’s due tomorrow). The only time I ever had this before was back in February when I did get a BFP but then I had an early miscarriage.
I guess what I’m asking is, do you think I still have a small chance of being pregnant this cycle? Or as FRER is so sensitive so you think it should have already shown up?
When I tested, I had literally just been for a wee about 20 minutes beforehand but I can’t stop going to the toilet, which is another reason why I thought I might have been.

We can't tell, unfortunately. Only time and another test will.

As I read it, the science suggests that hcg levels rise after implantation, which ‘usually’ happens approx a week before your period is due.

If your cycle is regular and 28 days-ish, then you may have tested a bit early, even for FRER. If the bleeding doesn’t turn into a full period, maybe try testing in 48hrs, and then you’d likely get a better indication.

Have you recorded your ovulation with BBT and OPK, or just best guess?

costacoffeecup · 02/12/2018 14:17

It seems unlikely to be honest. It's more likely to be the start of your period.

Ok thank you for the responses - the spotting has completely stopped now, leaving me even more confused! I have very heavy periods that never start with just spotted it’s always like HELLO I’m here and heavy straight away... I will just have to wait and then test again.

I haven’t recorded with temperatures but I used a clear blue OPK which makes me think it was roughly 12/13 days ago...

Some times periods are just weird. I've had similar where I had loads of spotting that then stopped, but then my period showed up full flow the following day. Never happened like that before or since, but like I said sometimes periods are just weird!

costacoffeecup · 02/12/2018 16:37

I think ttc somehow makes periods crazy! Maybe it's the stress. Only time I've not been 27 or 28 days was when ttc, it's quite cruel!

If you’d been to the toilet just 20 mins before testing I doubt you’d have had concentrated enough urine to get an accurate test. You’re supposed to hold it for something like 4 hours at least, or ideally overnight. Try again tomorrow morning.

I had the same thing last month with spotting at 12dpo (which I never get) and just disappeared. It was the start of AF for me which arrived 3 days later. I’d tested and got BFN’s so knew I wasn’t pregnant. I hope it’s a different story for you but it can just be AF being a bitch!

birdgal4848 · 02/12/2018 19:40

It probably is just AF being a bitch...I’ll try testing again in the morning, I don’t at all feel like I’m going to come on...usually I can tell because my stomach starts cramping days before...again could be my mind playing tricks or just a messed up cycle...only time will tell I guess.
