Ok I’m very early testing I know, but I’m the most impatient person ever 😭. Anyway I’ve came across something I’ve never came across before! I took a FRER this morning and there is a clear white line where the test line should be. It’s so obvious but it’s white! Has anyone had this before and did it mean anything? I might be clutching at straws here but I’ve never had it before! Any responses greatly appreciated. X

That sounds like an indent line! They are just plain white. No other colour to them. I’m afraid it doesn’t mean anything. 9dpo is very early, I didn’t get a BFP with a FRER until I was 13dpo. Good luck!

There is actually a study which shows that the majority of women don't get an accurate result, even with a FRER until 13DPO.

Thanks for replying. I know it’s so early to test but I’m just so impatient. That makes me feel better fingers crossed my BFP is a few days away!

I was the same! I tested at 9dpo and it was negative. A few days later I thought I might aswell just do the other so I know for sure I’m not and that’s when I got my BFP. Fingers crossed for you. The TWW is so tough.

It really is! This is our 5th cycle ttc number one. I know it’s not a long time but I’m just already so paranoid! I have used ovusense this cycle so I know I am 100% ovulating and have very regular cycles. Most of my friends conceived without any problems and I just feel so deflated as to why it’s not happened yet. I went for a smear a couple of weeks ago and was told to relax but I feel like I can’t! She said everything looked normal and that it will happen but I just feel that something must be wrong with me 😭.

Is it white or more of a grey, I had that and it was positive. You don’t see the indent on a frer unless you pull it apart and turn it upside down. Can you post a picture?

I ended up throwing it out so no I don’t have a pic because I was just feeling so low! I really don’t think it means anything. It was a pure white line! No grey at all just completely white like where the pink test line ‘should be’ but it was white! X

Hi OP, I have seen said line and think it's just an indent...I am ttc number 2 and on cycle 5 too! With my first I didn't get a line on an early response until 12dpo and it was SO faint (DH didn't even believe it was really postivie until I got a digital test a few days later and he saw the word 'pregnant'!) so you are very early testing and it could still be your month. Fingers crossed for you.

I was caught out by exactly the same thing. It appeared almost immediately.
It’s the indent and apparently a very common fault.

(I contacted them to complain and they sent me a replacement pack)

Ok so as i am neurotic and impatient I tested again tonight as that white like was annoying me! Look what I’ve got now 😂 you cannot see the line in the picture but I’m sure I can se a vvvvv faint line all the way down but there is a big pink spot at the top of it! Any idea what this might be? 😭 I’m losing my mind! If it turns out to be these tests playing tricks on me I’m going to be heartbroken!

Might I add the pink spot appeared immediately as I watched the test and the line was there too although the line faded a little bit I can still see it

Tell me about it! These two tests I’ve taken today are the first proper tests I’ve ever taken where I can quite clearly see something. I’m so upset right now 😭
