Months to get first AF after stopping pill but then have a regular cycle?

Hello, I stopped the pill in August after years and years. Last week I finally had my first proper AF so around a 90 days after stopping. I detected ovulation 2 weeks prior to this AF so hoping my body has kick started again. Is it likely I will have another really long wait until my second period? Or has anyone's cycles successfully regulated even after waiting ages for their first period to return?

For me once the first period happened things were more or less back to normal, same for friends - hope the same for you!

@Blondemother thanks! That makes me feel better! I was planning to TTC at Xmas and would work out great, timing wise, if I have the typical 28 day cycle now but just worried I might have to wait another 3 months for period number 2! I'm guessing I'll just do OPK everyday and hope for the best!

I didn’t. Came off the pill. Started having unprotected sex. Had a weird not proper period. Got pregnant.

Dates were a bit weird.
