Can anyone explain to me how you know when you are fertile if you have irregular periods? I really do not understand no matter what I read. Me and DH were going to start TTC in January but we are going ahead now!

You could try tracking your cervical mucus - it changes throughout the cycle and when wet, clear and slippery (like raw egg whites) indicates fertile time.

How about ovulation tests? You can buy the cheap ones en mass from amazon and eBay. The same ones are apparently supplied to the nhs so they are meant to be legit.

You can try them once a day until you start getting a hint of colour and then twice a day from there?

Some people also track their BBT (basal body temp) every morning which can give you some intel over if you've ovulated or not.

Sorry if you already knew this x

Have a look at ovusense - it measures your basal temperature overnight so you don't have to do it yourself, we got pregnant the second month of using it as it turns out I ovulate late in my cycle, it's designed for people with irregular cycles because it picks up a pattern each cycle

You could try ovulation sticks. Your best bet is to have sex every second day throughout your cycle.

Things to look out for which indicate ovulation:

Feeling better about yourself.
Clearer skin
Feeling better about what you see in the mirror
Increased sex drive
Cervical mucus that looks like egg white

You could also buy cheap ovulation sticks and use those.

Thank you for all the advice, I was younger with my first two and although it's only seven years from my first I feel like I need to be more actively 'trying' than when I was just winging it in my mid twenties!
