Shettles/gender swaying/influencing sex of baby

Ok so I posted this as a bit of fun. I personally don’t care if I had a boy or a girl, as long as they’re healthy why does it matter. However I do find this topic interesting. Has anybody actually tried to influence the sex of their baby? From what I understand... if you have sex on the day of ovulation you’re more likely to have a boy as the male sperm is supposedly faster. However if you do it a few days before you’re more likely to have a girl as the female sperm lives longer. I’ve also read you’re more likely to have a boy if you eat lots of bananas, orgasm first, do it standing up, and ensure you’re partner avoids hot baths. Confused I know my partner would prefer a boy but let’s face it, unless any of you prove it otherwise, you cannot pick and choose!

I’ll be honest and say I did try the shettles method (none of the other things) when conceiving my first child out of curiosity. I would have liked a girl but ultimately would have been happy with either (my husband would have preferred a boy if he had to choose). I thought I’d try it for a couple of cycles and if we hadn’t gotten pregnant then I’d start just DTD as much as possible and forget about trying to time it. As it was we conceived first month TTC and did go on to have a girl. The funny thing was I was so convinced throughout my pregnancy that she was a boy that i was actually a little disappointed we didn’t get to use the boy name we’d picked out. So yes I tried this but I didn’t take it too seriously and could have just been chance and nothing to do with it.

I'm intrigued by this too. We're currently ttc no.2 after a miscarriage in August. So technically no.3

We already have a little boy & I do think I'm more of a boy mum (if that's possible) but I know my husband would love a girl. We DTD 3 days before ovulation & AF is due tomorrow so we will see if she comes or not, then wait 36 weeks to find out if it's right 😂
