Ovulation after CP

Hi all, I think I had a chemical last cycle, had a number of positive HPT with a faint line and then AF came a day later than usual, never bothered going to the doctors as I had a bad feeling about it so can't be 100% sure. Having read around I've seen that ovulation can be a bit all over the place the month after one, and as I am a self-confessed control freak, I started testing using OPKs a lot earlier than usual (CD 7) I am now on CD 9, and the test line has been getting obviously darker everyday, which it usually does leading up to ovulation for me, however, I usually ovulate about CD 17, and I wanted to know from anyone with experience, as I'm fairly new to this game, can you ovulate up to a week early, and would it dampen my chances of conceiving this cycle if I did? I'm 24 and ttc #1

Sorry for your loss Thanks
I had a shorter than usual cycle after my chemical. So it is possible. I wouldn't rely on the OPKs alone though. It just shows that your body is gearing up to ovulate. Though I think most women will ovulate after an LH surge it's not a certainty.
I did silly amounts of googling when my cycles went wacky after the chemical (I had a cycle that went over 90 days after the short one but it was probably related to my PCOS as well) and the variance in experience seemed huge. Loads of people just had cycles as normal so try not to worry too much (easier said than done I know).

I had a CP last month. Started bleeding 5 days after period would have been due. Counting day of first bleed as CD1 I went on to ovulate on CD17 which is 2 days later than usual. I’ve been very fortunate and managed to conceive again straight away. Like you deep down I knew something wasn’t right last time as the BFP was very faint and didn’t get any darker. It is very much a personal thing though as for every story like mine you’ll get someone who has a super long cycle.

Hi, thanks for your answer. I think I'm definitely going to ovulate early because I've had some white CM (sorry TMI), which I always get a few days before ovulation. We've only been ttc for 3 cycles so not long at all, I had a burst ovarian cyst on cycle 1, and had lots of scans and blood tests as I had another fairly large one, but dr came to the conclusion it shouldn't affect my fertility and my blood tests didn't show any indication of PCOS. I've been tracking for longer than ttc because we knew we would be trying around now as we're about to buy a house, and all my symptoms and cycles have been like clockwork usually. You've put my mind at ease though, I'll just DTD every couple of days and try to stop obsessing (easier said than done 😂)

If it puts your mind at further ease, I only have one ovary. I had to have my other one removed due to a large cyst cutting off the blood supply to it. I had the same worries about the impact on my fertility but I needn’t have worried. I conceived my DD first month of trying and managed to fall again quickly when trying for #2. I agree it is easier said than done to not obsess! Good luck. x

Thanks, tbh hearing other people's experiences always puts me at ease a bit, I think it's nice having people to relate to, as DP doesn't really get it, and all my friends who have had babies were so young they weren't trying. My mum had really bad fertility issues so I've had to be extra vigilant as it's hereditary and it didn't affect her until she was 30. I'm just trying to take CP as a silver lining in the sense that I can fall pregnant, just need to get my sticky one. I'll put down the OPKs for a week or so 😂

Sorry to hear about your chemical. With mine I ovulated about 3 days later than normal afterwards, so wasn’t too different to a normal cycle after. I went for some fertility tests about 8 months into trying (am a lot older than you!) and was also diagnosed with a large cyst, he said that shouldn’t affect my fertility though- and it clearly didn’t as I got pregnant next cycle! The cyst was still there at my 12 week scan and gone by 20. x

People say it easy to get pregnant hendes one night etc . I came of the pill in September had a withdrawal bleed and two periods since both varying in length (24,28) so decided to buy some ovaulations tests from eBay and this month have found that I ovulated on 16 period is meant to be around the 1st December so will that change now .?

Emmalouise36 · 24/11/2018 12:57

Rose gold eagle congrats and glad things are better with your cyst

SDeb24 · 24/11/2018 13:23

RoseGoldEagle, I told my doctor we were ttc and he said that was the best cure for a cyst. Congrats on your pregnancy. Emmalouise I couldn't tell you, I am pretty good at tracking ovulation but like I said I've always been like clockwork before, I'm guessing you might have a longer luteal phase but I don't have enough experience ttc to give you a trustworthy answer

Emmalouise36 · 24/11/2018 13:45

Sdeb that ok thankyou for being honest ! I’ve always had irregular cycles which makes it hard to work out

Emmalouise36 · 24/11/2018 13:45

Thankyou for your time
