First cycle trying, 1 DPO... This is not a game for the anxious!

Just that really! First cycle of trying, Natural Cycles thinks I ovulated yesterday (I wee too often for OPKs to work, there’s never enough time for the hormones to build up) and now the waiting begins!

We only managed to DTD twice this week, Sunday and Wednesday, as DP was away with work and then wasn’t feeling well yesterday. I was feeling pretty chill about trying in a relaxed way for a few months and just enjoying the sex, but now I’m already thinking what ifs...! I try and be a laid back person but I’m actually a worrier, this TTC business is not one for the anxious!

Anyone with me on waiting or first cycle?

I’m using the TTC part of natural cycles too. We’ve been trying for the last 4 cycles.

I was using it for contraception first so helpfully it already knows my cycle. I’ve geared myself up for it taking a while - I’ve had friends who took one cycle to get pregnant and others who took a year, and said I wouldn’t drive myself nuts with it, but I guess that was wishful thinking.

I came off the pill in April and had been using it as contraception up until August when we decided to try for a baby.

I got into my head that it would be straight away, 4 months later that’s definitely not the case. My neighbour has recently fallen and she did say that it took her 6 months which made me feel slightly better about everything.

It’s difficult not to over analyse everything though.

I’m sure. Apparently it’s 50% of women will get pregnant within 3 months, 90% within 12 months. But after 16 years of trying not to get pregnant it’s hard to adjust my brain to trying whilst also not driving myself nuts. Hopefully you’ll get there soon

That’s what I find funniest, we’ve all spent so many years actively trying to prevent pregnancy (it’s been drummed into us if we’ve not careful we’ll fall pregnant). And then when you’re actually trying to fall it appears it’s really not that simple 😂😂

Thanks Chanel! Natural Cycles now thinks I ovulated on Wednesday when we did DTD so maybe... it’s my birthday next weekend so will do a FRER on Friday just in case before I have a drink
