BBT on night shifts

I was wondering whether anyone had any experience of doing BBT readings whilst on nights? I want to try charting my temp this month but I know you're meant to do it as soon as you wake up... would being on nights and checking my temp after my sleep in the day time make it inaccurate?

I have worked both jobs with "normal" shifts and jobs with nights and twilights (finishing at midnight, 1am). I used to take my BBT after my period of longest sleep, regardless of what time of day that was. It does make charts more difficult to interpret, as I found taking them when I woke up in early evening meant they were higher than had I slept overnight, but generally you can still make out the pattern.

Thankyou! I'll give it a go then and see how I get on!

Ive ordered an ovusense for this reason! I tried temping for a month, but I do nights and early starts and twilight starts so I couldnt keep it regular enough. From what I gather ovusense gives you an average of your whole sleep, I thought that would work out better for me and my silly shift pattern!

That's a good idea! I do a random mix of shifts too so I just don't know how accurate BBT would be for me! I'll have a look into ovusense! Thanks 😁

I have a tempdrop it charts temperatures over a 3 hour stretch of sleep. Maybe it's worth looking into.

Meant to say don't do night shifts but have seen people in the group do.
