Hi coldpenguin,
I think the trial has closed for the time being as when I call a few weeks back all I got was an ansaphone.
I bought my monitor off e-bay and joined this thread for some support.

gillydaffodil..thanks for the reply.

Have never been on the pill, so one thing to rule out at least!

I am on my 2nd cycle using the monitor and a little worried still as I am on day 18 of the cycle and all I have is a high reading!

Maybe I am overwetting as well? hmmmm....

I am collecting in a sample in a container and dipping the stick in. Maybe I am holding it in the sample too long....hmmm... how long does everyone else do it for? I am holding it in for about 40 seconds.

arrghhh... don't know what's wrong with me....went to the chinese herbal doc today and spent a whopping 300 quid on herbal remedies....they better work!

emotionalwreck · 15/09/2007 23:23

Hi ladies,
can I join his thread? Not on the trial but am so desperate to conceive that I went and bought a clear blue fertility monitor after only 3 months of ttc. I've got a history of polycystic ovary disease but conceived my dd naturally and unplanned about 2 and a half years ago. I'm 34 now and desperate to have one more child.

Was convinced I wasn't ovulating but I'm on CD 17 today and the monitor has showed peak fertility the last 2 days, so we've had the old dancing shoes on etc

Just wanted a bit of support and to offer some too to my fellow ttc'ers!

gillydaffodil...thanks for the advice. I held it in for about 15 secs today and got 2 lines! But they were both very very faint. I was convinced it would read as Peak but alas...it still read as high.

Ah well...onwards and upwards.

On CD 20 now and this seems to be the worst time for me.... The lead up to will I/won't I need to do a test.... When should I do one?

Trying not to get stressed out but can't concentrate at work or at home!

Talking of over wetting sticks - I really couldn't get on with passing the sticks through the stream of wee - most of the time I got no lines at all. But once I switched to collecting a sample I got lines every time (of varying degrees).

Is anyone else close to their due date for AF?

Fellow clear bluers....

After using the fertility monitor for 1 cycle and having sex just 4 times, I'm pregnant! How's everyone else doing?

meandmy · 14/10/2007 16:40

afternoon not been on for while laptop died so to update all im cycle4 cd9 peaked this morning which was very odd but making most of it we have decided if im not pg by cycle 6 finished we giving it a rest for a while which was a joint decision hopefully that way it will be a break and i could squeeze in learning to drive etc also my aim is to loose weight as i am still carrying my baby weight from my dd so at the minute ttc is not the first foremost thing.
hope your all ok and are having fun ttc! welcome all newbies, congrats all those bfp's x

gillypumpkin · 18/10/2007 16:15

Meandmy, I?m on cycle 4 too. CD 10 here and I think that acupuncture is having an effect but I don?t know if it is for the better . The CB monitor by now should have given me at least a high leading up to peak by CD12 and 13 but it was still low this am. She said it is because she is trying to make my periods stabilse and I will probably ovulate later this cycle. Thanks! For once I was due to ovulate at the weekend, she goes and makes me ovulate later!!!! Please don?t get me wrong though, I am being positive and trusting it, its just that I am a control freak and this month I am literally throwing the book at this conception malarkey and this could be the spanner in the works . I should be starting on the Chinese herbs very soon as well when they arrive in the post postal strike, our sorting office hasn?t caught up yet!

Worzel, don?t loose hope. Someone on the TTC No. 1 thread didn?t get any peaks and is pregnant. It isn?t over yet.

How is everyone else?

libralady · 20/10/2007 13:19

OMFG!!!!
Am CD 24 on 4th Cycle ttc#2 (2nd with CBDM)and have been up since 6am today as DS decided to wake early.
Went to the loo first thing and didn't think about anything, but at 9am went again (completely unusual as hadn't drunk anything) and decided on the off chance to test as I've got some cheapy test off e-bay and am sure I can see a very faint 2nd line. Showed it to DH as thought I might be seeing things (wishing it more likely) and even he thinks he can see a very very faint 2nd line (and he doesn't know where the second line should show).
Have had sore (.)(.)s for a week now and cramp feelings for the last few days. Not going to get my hopes up too much until I am actually late. AF not due until Wednesday. Am I being stupid and imagining things as I want a 2nd so badly!!!!

gillypumpkin · 20/10/2007 19:58

Congratulations! Let us know when you test again!

CD13 here and all I can say is that we have really given it our best shot this mth. Fingers crossed.

libralady · 22/10/2007 21:35

Well I did another test today and got a most definite BFP
Only symptoms, are slightly tender (.)(.)s - worse in the evenings, some pre-af cramp feelings since day 21 and a bit of a metallic taste in the mouth when eating first thing in the morning.
Tested on CD 25 and got the faintest of lines, but today's was a real stonker. AF wasn't due until Wednesday. Am in total shock as it took me 3 years + to fall with DS and this time around has taken 4 months. I really wish I knew about Mumsnet when ttc with DS as I'm sure I would have understood my body a lot better.

DungunGirl · 23/10/2007 14:08

Worzel! I totally understand! I have been using monitor for 4 cycles and so far not a peak reading even once!!!!!

I have started to worry that I am not ovulating at all....however I have also been charting basal body temperature and that indicates I am.

ah well....here's to continuing to ttc!

DungunGirl · 23/10/2007 14:48

Just thought to myself...it is day 26 and monitor is still reading as 'high'.

Could I be...?????

I am going mad or does it say that extended period of highs could mean pregnancy....?

Now i am going to drive myself crazy waiting another 4-5 days to see if I get AF!! Aarrghhhh

RahRah1 · 23/10/2007 14:56

I was wondering, as looking through here there have been so many successes, Is there anyone that wants to sell their Clearblue monitor now they have become pregnant?

I'm thinking about giving one a try as did not realise it picks up the estrogen as well as LH surge.... Plus my husband might understand more if he has something right in front of him saying 'have sex'...

I'll go and have a look on ebay as well.... Thanks and best wishes to everyone

gillypumpkin · 25/10/2007 10:26

Dungungirl, sorry to rain on your parade but this exact thing happened to me in the second cycle of using the monitor. It never detected a peak so it continues to show high expecting to detect a peak very soon until your period comes. In this way it is not a very sensitive system as it seems to be programmed for the first half of the cycle to detect estrogen/LH peak but not progesterone in the second half. I really, really hope I'm wrong though!

Hi Rah, I was checking out monitors on ebay before I came across the CB trial on MN. I don?t know how often they run it but several of us on here are effectively ?under contract? to test out the system and provide urine samples. Unfortunately that means that the kit does not belong to us and we have to return it after 6 mths, however there are several people on here who are not on the trial and may want to sell on their monitor. There are some good deals on Ebay though and I lost out on a few auctions before coming on the trial. If you manage to get one without instructions don?t worry as the CB website is very informative and I can always photocopy the instructions for you

DungunGirl · 25/10/2007 11:26

thanks gillypumpkin...i know the monitors can do that. I have had that happen on one of my cycles. In fact my husband wants to stop using the monitor as of this month as I have not once had a 'peak' reading. So we are just going to continue charting BBT which seems more helpful.

I have used the monitor for 4 cycles with no peak at all. Yet my BBT patterns have indicated ovulation every cycle.

Well..today is day 29 of my cycle....last month I had a 30 day cycle...so if tomorrow still no AF, then a couple of days later also no sign...then I will start getting hopeful!!!!

dd666 · 25/10/2007 21:03
