wil you explain what this trial is please before i phone

worzsel · 21/06/2007 13:14

If you get accepted you get sent the clearblue moniter, opks and hpts to last 6 months then you have to do an early morning sample of wee everyday record the results and send them back to Clearblue to be analized

I dont know what the criteria are to be accepted, i just told her mine and dfs situation and she was very nice.

what sort situ dont answer if you dont want to me dp took 18months to concieve my dd and are trying agian with no luck so far

worzsel · 21/06/2007 13:51

Just that we've been trying for 12 months, my mate was accepted and she'd been trying just one. she asked about how many pregnancies (3), misscarriages(2) and the date of my last birth dand period, how long my cycles were ( btwn 24 and 28 days ) and weather i had liver of kidney problems, she also asked if i'd have any pertility treatment but didnt seem bothered about the hysteroscopy,d&c or 21 day bloods so i think they just meant clomid or IVF.

JodieG1 · 21/06/2007 14:43

This is called the oxford conception study iirc, I used to do it a couple of years ago.

mumto3girls · 21/06/2007 14:48

I did this abot 2 and a half years ago...but i got fed upof remembering to fill in diary and send samples etc
Also the monitors are changed so that you don't get any info...

wishingfourgotone · 21/06/2007 14:55

So al that remembering to piddle on stick write down and i wont know is that what your saying? is it any help?

mumto3girls · 21/06/2007 15:14

yes - i have a cb monitor now and it was only when i got it that i knew they used the same monitor in the study. Only it was customised to not show any info on mine (however there were various groups and some are given more info than others)

I used to forget to write the diary...but i did get pg anf have dd3 to show for it!
Think we did it regardless of the study though rather than bcause of it...

wishingfourgotone · 21/06/2007 15:22

so are you saying because we ttc it wont hurt to help and those things cost a lot so make most of it?

Thelittlesoldiersmummy · 21/06/2007 15:23

I am going to call as they are soo expensive oh lets hope I get excepted !

wishingfourgotone · 21/06/2007 15:25

the lady is nice to talk too she will ask some q's ie last period length of your cycles pregnancies how long they lasted etc

Thelittlesoldiersmummy · 21/06/2007 15:25

hang on so will it not show me it I am oving?? if not I would bother ringing

worzsel · 21/06/2007 15:26

I home i dont get in the group that gets no info, i doubt i'll bother with it much then tbh !

OP posts:
worzsel · 21/06/2007 15:26

hoPe !

OP posts:
wishingfourgotone · 21/06/2007 15:28

worzsel same here!

mumto3girls · 21/06/2007 15:29

if you know how to read the sticks you can use them but the monitor will tell you nothing (if you're in the same group i was)

Still get ov sticks and hpts for free!!!!

Thelittlesoldiersmummy · 21/06/2007 15:31

oh I will give it a go then x

wishingfourgotone · 21/06/2007 15:32

and those cost cash that dp does not want me to spend on ttc so only good news then

worzsel · 21/06/2007 15:33

I have used strips before but never a moniter, i have never even seen a clearblue moniter tbh.. are they the ones with smiley faces ?

I heard that it would tell us up to 5 days before we ov and that we get low meduim and high chance of concieving, i am only doing in to help me get pregnant and get to know my cycles better not out of the goodness of my heart lol.. if they are not going to give me any info i'll carry on buying my strios and hpts from ebay lol..

boo

OP posts:
mumto3girls · 21/06/2007 15:38

worzel - thats what a cb monitor does if you buy one - but mine didn't on the study ...

worzsel · 21/06/2007 15:39

Oh well i'll have to wait and see, i cant see that many people would do it if it didnt help them along their path to pregnancy a bit.

OP posts:
mumto3girls · 21/06/2007 15:49

I think they assume that people do it to help other people in the future that could benefit from the data they collect.
