How do I work this out? My last period was 3 days late but then only lasted almost 3 days (normally 5-7) days but the period before that was on time and was 5 days long, then the period before that was a week early and was 4 days long xx

Your luteal phase is the number of days from the day you ovulate until your period starts, so the only way to find it out exactly is to pinpoint your ovulation day if you can and then count from there. If your cycle varies, then so will your luteal phase. Hope this helps.

Your luteal phase is always the same length. It is ovulation that may be later or earlier from one cycle to the next, so the bit that vairies in length is from start of cycle to ovulation. The average luteal phase is 14 but the norm is 10 to 16 days.

I worked mine out by doing BBT charting. You could use OPKs to get an idea of when you're ovulating too.

What @TwittleBee said!

Luteal phase has nothing to do with how long your period (bleeding) lasted. In fact, for all intents and purposes, it's irrelevant.
