My dh has a suspected tummy bug with very loose poo starting yesterday afternoon. He is feeling worn out this morning, but seems to be on the mend. But who knows really as he has not had any food since lunch yesterday. I think I am due to ovulate in a few days. Would you skip trying this month? No way I want to catch the bug. Even if he is better today, I worry if he is still contagious in a few days.....what would you do if he is better come time to dtd, skip or try?

If my DH has a bug I'd be likely to catch it anyway given that we live in the same house! So long as he feels ok then I'd be at it 😂

That's how I got my DD ......we had visitors who were using our bed. My husband had a bad tummy bug, but we were sleeping in our spare ( single) bed that night and one thing led to another, despite his illness. 9 months later our DD was born.

I guess we will see in a few days. In this house, we manage to contain tummy bugs. We are lucky usually (knock wood!). I last had a bad tummy bug 6 years ago and my husband surprisingly did not catch it (although his father and brother did!). My MIL also avoided it. It was during xmas when we were staying at their house. And then when my dc have had bugs my DH has never caught from them ever. I only did once bc stupidly drank from my sons water when I knew he had a bug (I thought I was invisible, but realised drinking from his water bottle I am not lol). Anyway, I have a few days to decide. If it goes away after today then I will. But any longer then no way as I don't want to chance it. I am starting to think more and more to wait until next month. This means I get to enjoy xmas, skiing and avoid August baby. Not that any of those things matter, as having a healthy baby is priority. I am just trying to look at positives for skipping this month. If my DP was 100% then I would go for it....but I guess ill see

Pop a hospital mask on and pretend it’s a sexy game.

Ha ha. I am still debating. But could you catch anything from the sperm fluid? Silly question...but it is fluid so I am wondering if you could catch a bug...and not the baby bug! lol. He is still feeling bad, but I don't think I ovulate for 3 days so if he is feeling better in a couple days then I might be up for it....but obviously just don't want to catch anything. Happy to cover my face or his to avoid it lol. But wondering if you can catch something from down below...

I was quite ill with a bug the month I conceived. Didn't pose any problems.

If you manage to catch a stomach bug from sperm, you're likely to be doing it the wrong way to get pregnant...

Scousequeen, I’m more worried about catching the bug. Don’t want any type of tummy bug. I don’t mind fever or colds etc. But I have a phobia of tummy bugs.

Thishatisnotmine, lol. My thinking is, if you can get sick from wiping your nose or eyes (virus or bacteria can enter through mouth, nose and eyes). I’m thinking another opening it could enter is down below lol. But I could be wrong. I’m not sure my dh will be better in time anyway. He is still not well and says he feels so beat up.
