I’m new here, I’m Aimee and I’m 23!

I’m coming off the contraceptive implant this week and TTC.

Wondered if anyone else had experience of coming off the implant and TTC? Obviously google is my worst enemy and I’ve read a lot of horror stories about miscarriages being linked to implant removal - sigh!

I’m a big worrier and this will be my first child (when it comes to it) so kinda freaking out before anything has even happened yet!!

Also - bit of a strange one (don’t think I’m crazy) I know it’s supposedly very unlucky but I like to be prepared so I’ve started buying baby essentials in preparation for the upcoming TTC, anyone else done this or just me?? Everyone else thinks I’m nuts haha!!

There's not a lot you can do to speed up the process. It's a big learning experience of giving up control.

I didn't buy things before. It wasn't about superstition, but how much it would depress me month after month, year after year.

I used to be on the implant, the advice was that your fertility should come back fairly soon after removal. Everyone is different though, and it can take a bit of time for your body to adjust. I had no periods while on the implant so I waited until I’d had a few periods in order to understand my cycle.

I’ve hidden it all away under my bed so I don’t have to see it everyday, it’s just there ready when it happens!

I’ve read it should come back more or less straight away, I always have a period each month on my implant so hopefully that will stay the same - I do want to wait at least one cycle so I can at least have some idea of a due date when it happens, I’m not one for tracking ovulation etc. I’ve got an app that tells me but we will just dtd and hope for the best!
