Hi,

My first post on mumsnet having read it for many years. Also sorry for the life story in advance! Just want to make sure I've got everything covered :)

My question: Could I be pregnant?

A little background. I used to take the pill without a break for about 5 years, many years ago when I was a teen so I didn’t have to have periods. Because who wants those, right?

I ended up with very painful ovarian cysts and was told I was unlikely to have children.

My periods have been irregular since. Maybe one every other month. Sometimes 3 months without.

Fast forward to my 20’s. After trying to conceive my first, it took 18 months. Funnily enough, the one month we only DTD once is the month I conceived! I had no pregnancy symptoms at all the entire pregnancy.

I'm now 30. My DS is 7 and a half.

I had surgery last year to remove cancerous cells from my cervix. I also had the DEPO in November (2017) and was told I couldn't have another due to the increased risk.

My partner and I stopped using protection in January. My periods came back in February and for the first time in my life they were regular! Woo!

I download the Flo app and now fertility friend to keep an eye on ovulation. My cycle is 29 - 31 days. We haven't started using temp recording or the sticks for ovulation yet.

My period last month (October) was 5 days early. It was also very light pink only when I wiped and the following day, darker red for about 3 hours then back to pink for the rest of the day and nothing.

This month I'm currently 5 days late for my period. I tested on AF's due date with a cheapy from a chemist and got a BFN. I also tested 2 days ago with the cheap strips from Tesco's and both BFN.

I have no Current symptoms. I had lower back ache yesterday and a few twinges in my lower left stomach / pelvic area but nothing that feels like my usual pms signs. - really sore boobs for the week leading up to it and horrendous lower back ache the day before.

I've read a few forums and trying not to get my hopes up with women saying it's taken up to 3 weeks past a missed period to get a BFP. I've ordered some first repose tests on Amazon due tomorrow which I'll use for Wednesdays morning pee.

I also have a cold. I had one before I was due and a bad cough and now I've got another one that's knocked me for six.

I realise women have been trying much longer than I have. My son is autistic and a blessing from a very violent relationship. I'd love to have another. 7 months isnt long to be trying I know! But it's still heart breaking every month getting a BFN.

Baby dust to everyone trying.

But you've been advised not to have more children for your own health? I'm confused why you would go against medical advice and possibly put your life in danger?
