Can I use ovulation tests straight after stopping the pill?

Hi everyone, we are wanting to TTC after I’ve finished my pill pack, however I don’t want to wait to see what my natural cycle is, is it advisable to use ovulation tests straight after I come off the pill? Obviously this means doing it every day until I get a positive result for ovulation which could be expensive, but I’m willing to pay, I’ve seen cheap 30 day strips on eBay. Just wondering what people’s thoughts were on this? Thanks!

It’s advised that you don’t although I did. It took me 18 days (from cd5 to get a +opk)! The next after my first natural af was much

Sorry didn’t mean to send! Much less I mean 5 days I think.

Thanks! This will be the first time we’ve TTC and I know the worst thing I can do is obsess but I’ve been on the pill for 10 years so I think it would be interesting to know how soon I ovulate and obviously we would like a bfp as soon as poss!

I would see coming off the pill as day 1 and do ovulation tests from around day 10 expecting that ovulation May b s later than day 14 having just come
Off the pill. I recon I ovulated about day 18 after stopping the pill. If you want to ttc there is no need to wait a cycle, I was impatient and went for it straight away....

*may be later

I would be more inclined to check your cervical mucus, rather than wasting money on OPKs.

You won’t stop the pill and get a period around 4 weeks later, necessarily. That means you could be testing and literally just pissing your time and money away.

Checking your CM is easy and free :)

There are actually more reliable ways to check ovulation than an opk, so personally I'd do those.
