Hi all. I have a 29day cycle. I haven't been so great on tracking every month but normally I get a positive opk on CD16. Its CD18 and this morning I've got this!

Now I'm panicking I have a short Luteal Phase and that could be the issue. Thoughts please!!

Do you generally ov around now? It could be you normally ov a bit earlier but your period will arrive 'late' this cycle. Time between ov and the start of af is usually the same...

Hi @Sshsecretenclosed I am not an expert but I'd say, don't panic.🙂 It's just 2 days difference. Even a person with very regular cycles can have a slight delay sometimes. So maybe if you ovulated a couple of days later, you would also get your period later (if not pregnant). Also from what I've heard 10 days luteal phase should be still enough for a successful implantation. How often do you do your OPK? Maybe your surge has started yesterday already?

I always ovulate late in my cycle - mine is currently 28 days (but used to be 25 days and has gradually got longer since coming off the pill) and I have ovulated regularly around cd17 each month, once it was cd19!! My LP was about 7 days at one point. If you Google BFPs with short luteal phase there's lots of threads with ladies who got their BFP with LPs of as short as 7 days. I've heard it can be an issue in theory but honestly, Google BFP with short luteal phase, and read the threads of stories of BFPs it will reassure you. Xx

Also if you normally ovulate cd16 it might just be an odd cycle, just a one off. If you're stressed or not well etc sometimes that can affect it. Also your luteal phase tends to stay the same so you may find AF comes a few days late if you ovulated late x

As people have said, you may just be ovulating late, in which case you'll likely have a slightly longer cycle. This said, my Lt phase is only 9/10 days. I recently got a bfp on day 9 of it!

Thanks all. I did get a nearly positive opk on CD17. It was very very close. DTD on CD16 with ConceivePlus, DTD on CD17 but now a bit panicky as DH was v tired from work last night and missed yesterday. Hoping I can collar him later!!
