Anyone prescribed norethisterone?

Hi

Got prescribed norethisterone today as no period for 125 days. Was so excited that the doctor was finally listening to me that i didnt really take in the instructions

Box says day 10- 24 3 times a day. Im assuming this means i take it straight away for 14 days? And then if no bleed take it again after 10 days?

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

I was prescribed this as my period wasn't stopping! They worked by the end of the evening i started taking them thank god!! I had to take 1 5mg tablet 3 times a day. I will finish my course on monday and the doctor said i shouldn't get a period straight away.
(I had a 10 day course)

Sorry really not much help i suppose but I presume you are right in what you are thinking

Have done some reading on the tablet and its meant to help regulate your period

Going to be honest i don't hold out much hope

It's to give you a withdrawal bleed when it's finished, not to make you bleed while you take it!
Three times daily for10 days is recommended.

This might be useful, assuming it's PCOS that is causing your amenorrhoea?

Awwww thanks for replying @c0wgirl. I hope it does work for you as it definetely doesn't help when you dont have normal periods like others.

Thsnks @Hiphopopotamous for the info. No idea if its pcos or not as cant get a scan until ive tried this for a few months so fingers crossed!
