When to DTD?

So as the title says.
On cycle 5 ttc no1! Have been using OPKs to identify ovulation and basically DTD every single day during fertile window. I wondered if any of you lovely ladies could give me some advice from your experiences...
How did you conceive? Was it with DTD everyday or every other day? It hasn’t worked with us doing it everyday so far so I wondered if it was better to DTD every other day? I think if we were doing it every other day I’d be scared I’d miss the peak day before ovulation and miss my chance. Any help greatly appreciated. Thank you xx

I have long, irregular cycles so took us over 12 months ttc but the month we were successful i got a positive ovulation test on the Saturday and we’d dtd on the Thurs, Sat & Sun. We used to aim for every other day until I got a positive OPK then would do a few days in a row. We would usually have done the Monday too but DH was ill so we didn’t.

Sperm can live for up to 5 days while the egg lasts for just a day so it’s better to DTD in the lead up to ovulation rather than day of so that the sperm is ready and waiting if that makes sense. I’ve been very lucky and conceived DD first month of trying. We DTD once a couple of days before ovulation (I’m sure we would have DTD more if we’d been trying longer). We’re now TTC #2. Got pregnant first month again doing the same but sadly miscarried. Currently in 2WW of first month trying after the MC.

That’s very lucky! I’m so sorry about your MC. Fingers crossed for you this month. I don’t know what to do this month. Just want it to happen so much 😭.

I wouldnt try and pinpoint it to a specific window, just DTD often. First time we DTD every other day, and second time was an accident when 'on paper' I wasn't in a fertile time! Just keep your bases covered 😊
