False positive clear blue digital

Hi.. just wandered if anyone can help. On Saturday 10th I had a positive clear blue digital 1-2 weeks.
I had a miscarriage around 6 weeks ago but was discharged from the early pregancy clinic about 5 weeks ago when blood tests showed my HCG level was untraceable.

So I was happy thinking it must be a new pregnancy but I tested again today and have had a negative on the clear blue digital and clear blue normal.

Is it common to get a false positive on the digital test.. feeling very confused 🤷‍♀️

To my knowledge a false positive on a digital is very unusual. Could be a chemical but I hope not. We're both tests FMU?

Thanks for your reply.. the first one I took on Saturday was at midday and the second one today was early evening. I’m going to take another one tomorrow morning with FMU. Just so confusing and disheartening aswell.

When I was testing, I got negatives with FMU and got my positives in the afternoon. My friend told me that you're supposed to pee some out, stop, then pee again on to the test. Something to do with the very first pee not working - sorry, don't know the technical term!

I also suspect chemical if you get no further positives. A test can only give a positive when HCG is present which is only present when pregnant.

False positives almost never happen, but heartbreaking truth: according to the leaflet in my Clearblue Digital test, about 1 in 4 pregnancies end in the first couple of weeks. Other research suggests 28% or 33% even. I'm very sorry you're going through this, especially after your earlier loss, and hope it was just a testing glitch / urine too diluted etc.
