When should I retest

DH and I aren't TTC right now (we have 2DC), although I have to admit we aren't always 100% careful (although unplanned, another baby wouldn't be unwanted).
I have 27 day cycles, sometimes 28. This cycle I am on day 31 and no AF. No sign at all. My PMS is slightly different. I'm getting nausea, I am so bloated even my pj pants are straining, my boobs feel swollen and tender rather than being plain painful like normal and my mood swings are horrendous.
I decided to do a HPT yesterday morning. It wasn't FMU as I had to go out and get one. It was negative. I have another test in my drawer and I'm itching to do it but I don't want to use it too early. When should I retest?

It's hard to say if you don't know when you ovulated! Usually you'd get an accurate result from the day your period was due.

I'm wondering if I ovulated later than normal this month? Apologies for the TMI but around ovulation I get lots of ewcm which I did but it continued up to a week before AF was due and again apologies but now I have no discharge at all. Unusual for me really.

It very well could be you ovulated a week later than usual and therefor you aren't 'late' yet...
