Is this pregnancy test definitely positive?

I'm told this is positive(about 4 weeks) and I clearly see the lines saying that. Thing is I've had a few people politely kind of phrase things in such a way that it's almost like they think I'm mistaken??
Could someone knowledgeable just have a good look at the pic and give me feedback. The pic is from a video call, with faces removed. Thank you so much

Looks a bit dodgy to me. The blue lines are different colours and the test line looks in an odd place. Someone trying to stitch you up??

wannabebump · 12/11/2018 07:22

Whilst it has 2 lines, the 2 lines are different. I'd want another test to check x

AnchorDownDeepBreath · 12/11/2018 08:08

It's a bit odd. The lines don't seem to be in the right places.

I think I'd want to see a different one.

mk1984 · 12/11/2018 09:12

Hi, thanks so much for all your replies. MakeAWish, are you saying you think it's fabricated? I have a suspicion, but it's nicer to believe it as I care very much for her. Wanna be bump and anchor, what do you think??

@mk1984 who knows 🤷🏼‍♀️ just doesn't look like any positive pregnancy tests I've ever seen, in that the lines are different colours. Can you get together with her in person and take the test together?

Herja · 12/11/2018 09:36

It looks like it's been drawn in with biro.

The line is in the wrong place, a different colour, to me looks a tiny bit wonky on one end and isn't something I'd believe.

Who sent it to you? If it's someone like an ex or a girlfriend, I'd ask them to do a new one with me, if just a friend I'd be polite, but disbelieving until I saw a bump...

Killybashangel · 12/11/2018 09:55

Could a white sticker have been stuck on the bottom bit with a line drawn on? Is the person prone to making stuff up or trustworthy?

HeresMeh · 12/11/2018 09:57

Also, the picture was clearly taken with a vaselined potato!

Killybashangel · 12/11/2018 09:58

Or perhaps the person printed out a photo of a line and stuck it on?

wannabebump · 12/11/2018 10:12

The line nearest the bottom of the picture has a different white background, like it's been stuck on. I appreciate you care for her but I'd have my suspicions too. Sorry you're in this position 😕 x

AromaticSpices · 12/11/2018 10:27

I've never seen a test like that before. Aren't they usually crosses? This looks like a photo has been superimposed onto another, as the white of the test stick looks more yellow at the top - you say this is a still from a video? Looks suspicious to me.

olderthanyouthink · 12/11/2018 10:44

"Also, the picture was clearly taken with a vaselined potato!"

Grin
mk1984 · 12/11/2018 14:51

Regarding the quality, it's a close up from a video call, the yellowing or blur is just poor resolution. I'm so upset, the truth is I've made three threads over the past month at different forums asking if it's ok and everyone concludes I'm being lied to.

I think you need to be with this person when they take another test to be 100% sure but as others have said it looks fake to me also sorry to say. Hope you get to the bottom of things soon.

Mseddy · 12/11/2018 18:03

@mk1984 just to help understand things. Does this person live in a different country? Is that the reason for a video call. If So, it's easy for us to judge that this test is like nothing any of us have seen before, it may well be a foreign test that none of us have actually seen before. Is this person just a friend? Or are you involved with this potential pregnancy? Do they have a reason to mislead You?

Personally I think it looks slightly odd, but I'm sure most tests would in that poor resolution. Can you take this persons word for it and not get hurt no matter how it turns out? Like if they are a friend, and it doesn't really mean anything either way to you then just let them believe what they wish. If not, if your involved in this then you have a right to know either way and that's where it becomes hard. You will hurt this person if they think you don't believe them, but you will get hurt if your lied to. Tough call!

I'm sorry for my coy ways. I really am so grateful for all your advice.
Here's the brief soap opera that has happened:
I'm with my agoraphobic girlfriend, she's in Europe so I always visit her, she never visits here, we date for two and a half years. After a few breaks I throw the towel in because I speak to a mens charity that tells me I'm the victim of coercive control(not allowed to see friends, watch my shows, eat some foods I like, not be out for too long, not allowed to cry after my cat passed away etc).
I leave and the pregnancy test happens. I keep getting convinced to go back. You are very likely correct in that it's fake, even a nurse has had a look and doesn't feel it's genuine (incidentally the ex has now had a blood test...which shows she isn't pregnant).
I have seen a psychiatric nurse today, started anti depressants and I'm starting talking therapy next week. It's been a huge ordeal, and honestly that is the short version of it(she showed up at my door in the UK twice with a miraculous cure for her agoraphobia after 16 years of living within half a mile of her home).
I digress, you're all so kind, your replies have given me strength. I'm forever grateful.Mark.

@mk1984 ohh, you run and run far, and don't even look back. That girl is a controlling psychopath and nothing good will come out of a relationship with her. And that test is fake.

wannabebump · 13/11/2018 07:23

@mk1984 what a position you are in Your appointments though stand you in good form to move forward, and please don't look back. Life is too short, get well & enjoy it.x

mk1984 · 13/11/2018 07:44

Thank you both for your kind words. Smile

Block her and all platforms and move on.
She is absolutely vile.

I hope you're ok x
