How long did it take you to get pregnant after a miscarriage?

I recently suffered a silent miscarriage and only last Tuesday, sadly, had surgery to clear everything away. Me and hubby are certain we want another baby, but I was just wondering how long it took other ladies after having a miscarriage until they had their BFP? I don't want to put pressure on myself, but am curious xx

14 months. And through ivf.

Hugs. It's shite but you aren't alone...

HalfBloodPrincess · 11/11/2018 19:38

There’s no set time really.

For me I miscarried at the end of April, and got my bfp in September on the 4th cycle.

For my sister, 6 years later she’s still waiting (and saving for ivf)

I’m so sorry for your loss. It’s a club no one should be a member of.

I had the very same thing happen in December 2014. Was pregnant again April 2015 and my first son was born in December 2015. Best wishes xxx

TokyoSushi · 11/11/2018 20:37

I'm sorry for you loss Thanks I had my miscarriage on 12.01.12 and was terrified to try again in case the same thing happened. I felt ready by the September and got my BFP the same month, perfect pregnancy, absolutely no problems at all and now I have the most amazing 5 year old!

Neolara · 11/11/2018 20:37

4 months, 3 months, 2 months and 1 month. To be honest, getting pregnant after only one month totally messed with my head and I wouldn't recommend it. I was still very sad and being pregnant again was very difficult.

BrokeLuce · 11/11/2018 20:37

I'm so sorry Panda.

I miscarried in January 2017 and was pregnant in May 2017. Miscarried that pregnancy in May 2017 and was pregnant again in July 2017. My daughter was born in March 2018. Miscarriage and baby loss is awful. I hope you've got some support in real life.

Babycakes1989 · 11/11/2018 21:01

I had a missed miscarriage too in July. I’m due my 4th AF next week. It’s so tough , I know exactly how you feel. Be kind to yourself xxx

Gemmac15 · 11/11/2018 21:05

It’s taken us 9 months post miscarriage in January.

ithinkillstayhereallday · 11/11/2018 21:09

First mc at 12 weeks it took 2 cycles to get pregnant again. Second mc I never had a period after and am pregnant again. Midwife thinks I fell pregnant 2 weeks after the 2nd mc.

LittleScottieDog · 12/11/2018 13:45

Sorry for your miscarriage Sad

I mc'd at 7 weeks, had four periods and then fell pregnant, so about 5 months. Currently 33 weeks.

The hurt doesn't go away though. Look after yourself and each other. Flowers

Eeeeek2 · 12/11/2018 13:52

9 months but it also took 10 months to conceive dc1

Thirtyrock39 · 12/11/2018 14:19

I was in hospital due to miscarrying in 2007 and exactly a year later was back in the same hospital having a baby- think there was 2 cycles in between the miscarriage and next pregnancy

peachgreen · 12/11/2018 21:25

I conceived the day the baby I lost was due.

strawberrye · 13/11/2018 10:03

3 months after loss #1 although that was a chemical pregnancy, almost 9 months since that loss and still waiting.

strawberrye · 13/11/2018 10:04

I mean the time I conceived after loss #1 turned out to be a chemical. Sorry for your loss OP.

InDreamland · 13/11/2018 11:19

I'm so sorry for your loss Flowers I hope you have support around you at this really terrible time.

Everyone is different. I have my mc in mid July this year, pregnant again beginning of November (3 cycles) but just mc'd again.

Come join us on the TTC after pregnancy loss thread. Everyone is super supportive on there x

flumpybear · 13/11/2018 11:25

A few times straight after wards with 1 period in between, one was successful too and my eldest child. Other times it's taken ages

I wouldn't wait as my obstetric consultant was a miscarriage expert and told me never
To wait often thoughts that your body is primed for pregnancy!

HiGunny · 13/11/2018 11:48

I conceived again about 5 weeks after my miscarriage (at 11 weeks). It took me 6 months to get pregnant first time around so I didn't want to wait before trying again. I also knew that the only thing that would heal my grief was to be pregnant again.

DayDreamer1707 · 15/11/2018 14:09

@pandaobsessed so sorry for your loss but stay strong. I had a missed miscarriage on 15th of October.

My head was all over the place and really wanted to get pregnant right away. I got pretty obsessed with every ache and pain and wondered if I could be pregnant so soon.

Then finally calmed down and realised that I was probably best just to allow my body to recover and also mentally accept what had happened. I have recently just got my AF and it's actually made me feel positive as this feels like a fresh start.

We are both ready to try and again now for the right reasons and feel a lot more positive which can only help :)

Rachelsholiday · 15/11/2018 14:13

I found out I was pregnant on March 14th 2006 had a miscarriage had one cycle and then fell pregnant and my DS was born on March 9th 2007.
