Irregular periods - negative OPK's

Hi all,

We've been TTC for 14 months now and have just started the tests through the fertility clinic. My periods have been very irregular (28-36 day cycles) since coming off the pill (Rigevidon - after taking it for 9 years). The DR said this isn't an issue and I shouldn't rely on OPKs. However, I would still like to take them although we are DTD every other day. It's just frustrating as I'd like to know when I am ovulating (the last three months I haven't had a positive OPK). I'm also going on the 22nd for the Day 21 Blood Test to we if I actually am ovulating.

Anyone got any ideas of dates to take them and how many? I'm useless, just need pointing in the right direction (again DR wasn't helpful re: dates) and I'm getting extremely frustrated by them.

Thanks!

Start taking opks cd 10/11. You generally ov 12-72 hours after a positive opk. And you generally ov about two weeks (give or take) before af starts.

Thank you I'm on day 10 tomorrow so will start then. The two weeks before AF is a bit difficult as I'm irregular every month so can't predict this!

So use the cheap opks. It's like a fiver for 30 on Amazon.

Or just Dtd every other day and forget opks - you'll be covered.
