blood test for pregnancy - help me please

OK I know this question is a bit like "how long is a piece of string" but please I need some thoughts here.

I had a pregnancy blood test this morning - it was 7.5, now I know that 25 is "pregnant", but the middle ground is the unknown.....

I was due to have a CT scan today, and since I am only 7dpo, I was expecting the result to come back negative (ie

i take it your not on any drug that can increase your hcg level?

then, isn't the only thing that increases your hcg level pg?

you need another test to see if it is increasing, too. then you will know!

have you done a urine test as well?

Thanks scorpio, no I am not on any drugs to increase hcg level. I am not going to be able to get another blood test (due to where I am) until Monday, if feels like a long time away.

Is it 48 hours that the level doubles or more than that? I am wondering if by the weekend a sensitive urine pg test would work?

I did the urine test this morning, as I thought they might ask if I was pg, but at 7 dpo I knew it would be negative.... I only did it as I ov'd later than usual this month, so wondering if I was further in cycle or not.... it is so confusing

Thanks scorpio, I will test with a sensitive test at the weekend then. Or I will take time out go to the doctors and rant and rave and wave my arms about until they give me a repeat blood test on friday !
