Late period, negative tests

Just looking for a more recent source of information. The threads I’ve found are10+ years old. I’ve always had a 27 day cycle... exactly 27 days, always. My period is 4 days late but I’ve taken 5 tests and they were all negative. Has anyone had experience like this? Did they find they were pregnant or was there some other reason for a late / missed period.

I was a fortnight late before I got a bfp with dd. She was a week late.

Sarah2040 · 08/11/2018 15:14

Thanks for replying. Did you take repeated tests? I got the bfp on the day I was due on with my dd and started being sick the next day so this is a bit strange.

We were camping and I dragged dc miles to find a chemist and bought about ten and tested every day!!

waitingforbaby2 · 08/11/2018 15:38

I'm currently 11 days late and getting BFN but only had implant out mid September so It could be that have u recently come off birth control? I've got doctors tomorrow so will hopefully start getting some answers soon

Hi,

I’m in a similar situation but I am 6 days late with so many negative tests! I am usually very regular around 28 days! I have been fooling constantly but can’t seem to find anything recent! So glad you started this post! Have you got any symptoms?

Dotty356 · 08/11/2018 15:40

Googling* lol

Sarah2040 · 08/11/2018 15:48

Haha, Santaispolishinghissleigh! I’ve been doing the same. I’m so confused!

Waitingforbaby2, I haven’t been on birth control since I had my little girl 3 years ago. I’d be really interested to know what the doctor suggests if you don’t mind sharing?

I have no symptoms. I’ve had vague period pains but nothing else. You? With my first I had so many symptoms from day 1 so I’m not really expecting anything.

I had 4 false negatives when I was pg with my dd, and quite normal periods, although they were very much lighter then.

I only found out I was pregnant at 18 weeks, when I went for a scan convinced I had a cyst.

She's 21 today, by the way Grin

I usually get pretty strong pms symptoms, but all I have had is tender boobs which started the day after af was due! So confused! I have tested on frers, Ones from Wilkinson’s and Morrisons! Not tried a clear blue yet. I really can’t justify buying any more tests lol!
Will be interested to hear what the docs say!
It’s just odd, I have only been late once that was with my first and I tested positive on the first day of missed af. Confused!

Sarah2040 · 08/11/2018 16:00

PhaedrasChocolate, that’s why I think I can’t be pregnant. I was in hospital at 5 weeks, on a drip because the sickness was so bad. I just can’t imagine I’d be feeling so well!

Sarah2040 · 08/11/2018 16:03

Dotty356, I’m exactly the same! 1 late period before and I was pregnant with a positive test the day I was due. I feel silly taking tests everyday. It says over 99% accurate so doubting it seems ridiculous... but I’m just so confused!

Bababoo13 · 08/11/2018 16:05

I always get negatives for a couple of days after my period has been due when I have been pregnant. Hsve a 28 cycle but think I must ovulate later so this is the reason (or that is the conclusion I have come to)

Sarah2040 · 08/11/2018 16:06

Forgot to say, slightly weird.
Took 3 pound shop tests, they all came out negative. I took a Tesco one and that had a line in the positive window but no line in the control window. I then took a fancy clear blue one and that came out negative. I feel like I’ve tried out the full range!

Bababoo13, that’s interesting. We aren’t ttc but we did have a little ‘accident’ last month but I figured that I’d be long done with ovulation by that point.

Dotty356 · 08/11/2018 16:23

@sarah2040! Snap! I’m too anxious to take a clear blue just yet! I figure they are the hardest to get a result on! Interesting about the line being in the test section and not control! It’s so stressful! I have only being trying for 4 cycles.

CAO30 · 08/11/2018 16:24

I'm almost in the same boat. My cycle is usually only 21 days, and when I was supposed to start my period last week I started spotting instead. This last Sunday I had bright red spotting but the day after it went right back to brown. I took a test on a HCG strip on Monday and got a faint positive, but every test since then has been negative. I finally stopped spotting yesterday. I have an appointment at Planned Parenthood today and I'm going crazy. I just want to know what the heck is going on lol

Sarah2040 · 08/11/2018 17:33

It’s very odd. I really want to know if it’s legitimate that 5 pregnancy tests could be negative and there could still be a chance of pregnancy... or am i just clutching at a straws.

OP posts:
Dotty356 · 08/11/2018 17:35

I usually spot before Af but nothing this time. I keep going the loo to check for af as I feel like it’s About to come and then nothing.

CAO30 · 08/11/2018 17:38

@sarah2040 I'll let you know after today because I think I've taken like 15 at this point lol

Dotty356 · 08/11/2018 17:38

I feel the same... like I am clutching at straws! I am just wondering what else could cause it to happen all of a sudden. I would get it if I was usually irregular, but nope.

Sarah2040 · 08/11/2018 17:57

@CAO30, thanks so much!

OP posts:
Sarah2040 · 08/11/2018 17:59

@Dotty356, I’m exactly the same. I can pin point it to the time of day and everything. I’m just never late. I started wondering about the menopause but at 30 that seems unlikely too!

DreamsOfWaves · 08/11/2018 18:09

Thank you so much for posting - I'm in exactly the same boat! AF was due on Monday (usually with a bit of spotting the day before) and absolutely nothing! I'm embarrassed to say i may have spent over £80 on POAS in the past week oops. I had a MC at the start of August and AF came around 6 weeks later then the next month was back to normal 28 dates. I guess it must just be the MC messing things up but it really is torture...wish AF would just hurrry up and come so i can get on with it!!
