Hi everyone!

Me & DP have been ttc for 2.5 years. Dp has been referred for his 2nd SC & I've just had my 2 day bloods done this morning. GP referred me to the fertility clinic after my 21 day bloods.

HOWEVER.....AF is 2 days late! The nurse did me a test this morning which came back negative, HOWEVER I'm never late, if anything I'm a day early. I realise every cycle is different, but I don't have my normal pre AF cramps, I'm tired & groggy.

The positive polly inside my head is telling me it could just be 'too early' to pick up on a test 🤔🤨

So....at what stage did you all get you BFP? Is it possible for it not to show up for a while after AF is due?

I realise I'm probably just torturing myself! 🙄🙈

The first month but miscarried. But conceived again the next month and now have a 7 month old boy. Good luck

Essexmummy88 · 06/11/2018 21:51

Btw my first took ages to conceive (above is referring to my second)

Whatdoingmummy · 06/11/2018 21:55

Sorry Essexmummy88, I meant at what stage of being pregnant did you get your BFP. For example 6 days before AF was due or the day AF was due. I don't think I was very clear in my post- sorry 🙈

I’d like to know this too :) whatdoingmummy when did you start going for fertility tests? We’ve been trying for 11 months so going doctors nexts month of no joy by then.

Whatdoingmummy · 06/11/2018 23:01

RC1985 Dp went after about 15 months for his first test, the results weren't great but the GP sent him on his way & told him to come back in 6 months if we hadn't had any success. We've been trying the 'relaxed' version of ttc...although I haven't relaxed one single bit 🙄 Which is why we have only just gone back to the Drs.

I started with the relaxed it’ll happen when it happens’ but then after 6 months got frustrated and started using opks which are the same days each mont CD15-17 but still nothing so now I’m going to doctors. But I’ve requested a particular doctor as I know she’s good but got to wait till December. OH said he’ll go in jan as wants to get Xmas out the way. I’m happy to pay for tests privately if nhs aren’t that good. Honestly not sure how we’re supposed to not think about it! Also we were never a couple that had sex all the time, it was like 1-2 times a week so now it feels forced which makes you think about it more, so frustrating.

Whatdoingmummy · 06/11/2018 23:18

I know exactly how you feel with the 'forced' feeling. DP works away mon-fri so I feel like we absolutely have to dtd Fri, Sat & Sunday!

The NHS have been good to us so far, however we aren't eligible for IVF because I have an 8 year old DD, which really grinds my gears!

The amount of people that have told me to stop thinking about it & it'll happen...I just shoot them 'the look' now!

That’s a shame about IVF, have they already spoken to you about that then? I watched a programme recently that suggested IVF is given as an option too early and more investigations should be done first to find out what the problem is as otherwise IVF might not work. Hoping we conceive naturally but I’d rather get testing underway as I know from others it can be a longer road. Good luck with your testing though.

I got my BFP at 13dpo. I have a fairly short luteal phase though so AF was a day late at that point

Hiphopopotamous · 07/11/2018 10:28

At 13dpo, but took a full 3 minutes after POAS for the second line to come up. Did one the day before and discarded it for being negative, fished it out of the bin the next day and it was faintly positive too.
Set a stopwatch on your phone and wait the full 3-5min before making a call!

loveshinealight · 07/11/2018 10:34

My first I was CD39 before my BFP. I'm trying to conceive number two and currently on CD34 🙄

Whatdoingmummy · 07/11/2018 13:15

AF arrived this morning, the witch 🙁

RC1985- I think he was just trying to prepare me when he told me we couldn't have IVF. Fingers crossed they can help us in other ways :)

loveshinealight- Sending you lots of luck, fingers crossed for you
