I have 2 children already. I've recently started a relationship with a new partner (6 months) but I've known him for years.

Anyway, this result is after an hour - not after the recommended 5 mins. So it could be wrong. I vaguely remember this happening before though when I was pregnant but I'm really not sure.

My period is 9 days late :/

Please tell me this isn't positive...

I can see a faint line, sorry if that’s not what you want to hear. Maybe try another in the morning?

headstone · 05/11/2018 18:44

I can see a faint tinge but probably just evaporation .

peppersprayfirstapologiselater · 05/11/2018 18:46

If the period is 9 days late I'd expect a much darker line.

Maybe you could have been pregnant but the baby didn't 'stick' and your hcg is going back down. That would explain the faint line.

Or just an evap?

Pastaagain78 · 05/11/2018 18:48

Tbh, if you are nine days late I would expect a stronger positive. If that appeared after the time I wouldn’t think it was a positive. More likely and evap.

gamerchick · 05/11/2018 18:53

That's a negative test. If you were 9 days late you would have a clear line and I can't see one at all.

Mummyoftwokids · 05/11/2018 18:54

Thanks for your feedback. This is definitely not planned so I hope it's not a positive. I took it around 5pm, I know it's better first thing. I'll wait for a few days yet and see.

Been getting lots of hot flushes and diahorrea. Hope it's a bug or the menopause! (I'm 34)

I had a line like that on one of those tests last month and my period came as normal. Hope everything works out for you.

Mummyoftwokids · 05/11/2018 19:31

Thank you!!

If you're definitley 9 days late it's negative, unless you maybe have irregular cycles and are possibly testing early.

DonDrapersOldFashioned · 05/11/2018 19:36

Read the instructions of your test. There is a clearly defined window of time in which you should read results. Before or after this point the result is considerably less accurate.

FWIW, I can’t see a second line on that test. If I zoom in and convince myself, there might be a shadow of something but after an hour it is highly unlikely to be indicative of a positive result, especially if there was no sign of a line at the once the allotted time for reading (5 mins?) had passed.

DonDrapersOldFashioned · 05/11/2018 19:39

It’s probably a bug and a coincidence.

Take this as a heads up to get your contraception sorted, if you haven’t already.

Mummyoftwokids · 05/11/2018 19:41

Thanks.

Yes, I know you shouldn't look after that time frame but I just had to. I think when I was pregnant before this was the case too but it could be evap line. (There def is a line btw).

I'm on the cezzette contraceptive pill and the pull out method lol

iamapixiebutnotaniceone · 05/11/2018 19:43

Looks like an evap line to me x

Mummyoftwokids · 05/11/2018 20:20

:-) thanks guys

slappinthebass · 05/11/2018 22:14

I vote evap line. I can see the line but it has no colour at all.

Mummyoftwokids · 05/11/2018 22:20

Smile no more hoking it out of the bin lol

I'm just reading about the mini pill that I'm on, loads of women stop having periods while on it! So chances are it has just messed up my cycle etc.

100% Positive even on a faint line. If you get a negative on your next one, you will still be pregnant hun. Just one positive then 10 negatives thereafter still means you are pregnant. Just one positive and it's 100% accurate.

Mummyoftwokids · 06/11/2018 00:43

Thanks Tilly. I've been reading up on lines / evap all night. Can't get it out of my head. I checked it again and it's not "grey" it's slightly coloured... like an evap line would look like a tissue that had water on it, but this isn't like that.

I've 2 tests coming in the post tomorrow so I'll try and wait a day of 2 and test with morning urine.

I had REALLY bad anxiety / depression in my second pregnancy so it's really scared me :( I have a girl and boy, 9 and 7. Just don't feel ready for this... but we'll see!

MyKingdomForBrie · 06/11/2018 00:47

Tilly as previous posters have said, after nine days late the hcg should be a lot higher than a really really faint line.

I'd say you're really likely not pregnant OP.

Mummyoftwokids · 06/11/2018 00:50

That's true, unless my cycle shifted but I doubt it. Took period on 28th aug, then 27th sept

OP posts:
Mummyoftwokids · 06/11/2018 00:52

That pic isn't very good either. I'll just be patient. Trying not to freak out. Maybe try holding my morning pee in until the postie arrives 😆

ilovepuppys · 06/11/2018 01:02

Really sorry but positive. Mine was the exact same and turned out pregnant X

OVienna · 06/11/2018 01:08

I can't see any line whatsoever...however and I'm sorry if this scares you but when I has an ectopic I had a couple of weird test results. Pos at home and a negative at the doctor's. He retested and there was a line. Do you have any other symptoms?
