Hi, this is my first time posting so I am a bit nervous. I have been ttc since coming off the pill in July, I got a withdrawal bleed 5th August and then my first AF 8th September. I am now currently on CD 58 and my AF is 23 days late but have been getting BFN. I just wanted some advice on if this seems normal or if I should be thinking about seeing my GP?

I came off pill in April and have only had 2 AF's since then. It can take a year for AF to regulate itself to normal apparently. If you are worried about hormone imbalance or maybe having PCOS or anything like that then I would go see GP but if not then I would maybe start trying ovulation testing kits or temping to see when you ovulate?

I am in a similar boat, I don't know when I am due to ovulate due to how irregular my periods are but just waiting a little longer before I start to kick it up a notch with kits/temping etc.

My first cycle post withdrawal bleed was 101 days! Then 51 and I am now on 54. I felt like my AF was due this weekend, as did Flo app, and I definitely had symptoms but it didn't appear. Waiting until end of the week (if I can help myself) to test again.

Thanks for your reply! Yeah I have read that it can be pretty irregular for up to a year it’s just very annoying when you really want something to happen! I have thought about testing kits but I didn’t want to drive myself mad with that! It’s just annoying that AF hasn’t turned up so can’t start trying again! I guess it is just a case of waiting.

I'm so glad to find people in the same boat as me. I'm 6 months off the depo injection TTC baby #1, I am driving myself crazy with sheer frustration. Iv had 3 small bleeds, more spotting than actual AF. They've all been exactly 5 weeks apart so it feels like my body is trying to get back to normal. I tried ovulation tests when it says I should based on a 5 week cycle but not ovulation as yet!
The sheer frustration of waiting for normality to kick in is getting to me.
(This is all new to me, not picked up all the lingo/abbreviations yet)

Yeah it is good to know that other people are in the same situation and can relate! It is the most frustrating thing I have ever experienced! I just want everything to return to normal so at least I can have an idea of timings and if I am even ovulating or not! I just try my hardest to make sure it isn’t all I ever think about.

It's easier said than done though! It's always kinda lingerie in the back of my mind, isn't it?
And, is it just me, or the minute you start TTC all you see is people announcing their pregnancy on various social medias?

Nikkinoodle84 · 05/11/2018 21:26

*lingering!! Not lingerie 🙊

Bumble9193 · 05/11/2018 21:42

Yeah it’s always on my mind no matter how hard I try not to stress over it! Yeah I feel exactly the same!! It’s all I ever see now I have started to try!!

I feel the same. I just want AF to come so I at least know where I stand. I tested this morning as I am technically "3 days late of my predicted AF" but it was BFN so that was a bit sad but kind of expected too. Really wish I just had a normal cycle so could time things better.

I have decided that if my AF is not here by end of the week I am calling the GP to get my bloods done again as I had them earlier this year and they were fine but things may have changed. I came off the pill to try and regulate myself (I had been on it 15 years), and my periods were barely non-existent on the pill anyway due to stress and shock (wedding planning, dog passing away suddenly), the stress has subsided now so I was hoping I would feel more normal but I just feel less than I did on the pill :(

Nikkinoodle84 · 07/11/2018 22:47

Iv started to bleeds today, actually feels more like AF, cramps and sore boobs, but still extremely light so I'm keeping my fingers crossed it is actually AF! I'm the same, I just want to be able to time things.

I had bloods checked a few months ago, but my DR told me unless it was done at a certain point in the cycle it didn't tell them much. I'm back at GPs tomorrow on unrelated issue so I'm tempted to treat this bleed as AF and ask for the bloods to be done. Couldn't hurt, right? I'm overweight and work in a very stressful job so I feel like i know what they're gonna tell me to do. Iv started taking pre conception vitamins in the hope that gives me a kickstart!

Bumble9193 · 08/11/2018 07:38

I’m sure it wouldn’t hurt to ask! It is just stressful not being able to time things at all! My AF has turned up today so I suppose that is one positive thing but doesn’t really help me with any timings as my cycle was 61 days this time 34 days last time! I will just have to keep trying again and see what happens!

Well AF is defo here! I knew it felt different this time. Though when the cramps woke me up at 5 am this morning I wondered why I was wishing this upon myself! 😂
At least it's one less thing to wait for now!

cherrylo86 · 08/11/2018 15:50

Sorry a few of you have got your AF but at least you know where you stand sort of. I am on CD 57 now and my last one was 54 so I feel like I am getting nowhere as I was hoping they would be getting shorter not longer. Not had many symptoms of anything really apart from a bit of creamy discharge in my knickers (TMI I know) but not much else. I took a test last Thursday but it was a BFN. My AF was technically due (according to Flo app) on Saturday just gone but nothing turned up so going to take another tomorrow just in case but I highly doubt it. It is just so frustrating :(

Nikkinoodle84 · 10/11/2018 11:38

To be honest, this is the one time I'm actually happy to see AF! Took 6 months!
It's good to keep track of your CM to help know when your fertile!

Bumble9193 · 05/02/2019 18:54

So here I am again CD 60 no signs of AF and still getting a BFN! I have been using the Ava tracking bracelet I got for my birthday which seems to say I did ovulate back in December but I’m really not so sure! Had bloods taken at the doctors last week and the results came back all clear! I am just utterly frustrated! Not sure why I am posting just feels better to be able to write it down ☹️
