Positive?

Hi everyone, I'm trying to work out my cycles and understand when I Ovulate in a cycle, here's a picture of all my OPKs over the last 6 days (I started testing on cycle day 9 and I'm now on cycle day 13) I've been testing a couple times a day and I just want your opinions on the last OPK I took as it seems a lot darker than the rest, is this a positive? I do struggle to read these ones but can't keep affording to buy the cb ones. Thank you in advance x

Hey @havefaith19 - it's not quite a positive yet but it's on the way. The test line needs to be the same if not darker than the control but the progression is definitely there. When it gets to that shade I normally test twice a day; in the morning and early evening so you don't miss the surge.

Sorry to jump in but I started a thread and didn’t get a reply! First time using OPK’s for me, is this a positive? I’ve tested negative since!

That's fine! That does look like a positive to me but I'm no expert and struggle to read them myself! I since tested again and the line is darker (it's the last test on the bottom) it's getting there! Would you say mine is a positive? Or should I test again in the morning?

Hope this helps. This is a pic of my most recent positive opk next to a negative one from a day or so before that. I find the line varies, some days darker and then lighter again. A positive is the same colour or darker than the control line. I tend to have an almost positive and then the following day a really clear positive where the line is easily darker than the control line.

@mumofone25 and @havefaith19 none of those look quite positive yet but not far off. It can change quite quickly. I recommend testing about mid morning and early evening.

Hi @MrsDash thank you for your reply. It’s all so confusing isn’t it. That’s the darkest I got. The next day it was showing less negative!

@mumofone25 no worries, just hope to be helpful. I took a while to fully get my head around when to test and what to look for. Sounds like that was a positive then! 🙂 actually looking at it again it does look quite dark.

@MrsDash you have been very helpful it was my first time using them. Had EWCM too on the day I took the test so fingers crossed. It was quite dark and I got excited but then you start second guessing yourself!

Here are mine - hope they help . I find once you do them for a couple of months you get to know how dark your lines go and around what day.

I would suggest starting from cycle day 10 to begin with ( cycle day 1 is first day of your period) though I know I get ewcm 2 days before I surge so I normally only start testing the day after I first see ewcm- everyone is different though and some get it right when surge- ovulate xx

No problem you can see cd13 I did have doubt in morning if it was going to become positive that day but next day it was definitely darker xx

I just used a cb OPK (I have a few left but trying to save them off possible) it came up positive but the lines on the other ones aren't what people would call a positive? The last one step OPK that I took was about 2 hours ago, what do you all think?

@havefaith19 the last one step looks fairly positive to me

Ok thank you so much, I missed out on testing yesterday due to being super busy but if I tested yesterday would I have got a positive then? I'm on CD13 today so does this mean I will ovulate tomorrow?

Just done another OPK (the last one)... definitely positive! Thanks so much for all your help x

Yes you’ll ovulate during the next 24 hours or so I believe.
