A few coil questions

So I got my coil fitted 4 weeks ago now after having my second baby via c section in August.
When getting the coil fitted I can’t remember that the nurse said (was in so much pain and wanted to get home) but I’m 99% sure she said no sex without contriception for 6 weeks! Me and my partner had sex a few days later and the condom split. I got emergency contriception. A week after that I started bleeding. Pretty sure it’s my period. I’ve been bleeding ever since. Me and my partner have been having sex without contriception as I had read online it was safe to do so and doubting that I heard no sex without contriception for 6 weeks.
I’ve been having the worst cramps. Achy boobs. Headaches and honestly feel as I did when first pregnant with my children. Could someone shed some light on if these are normal Mirena coil symptoms?
I have my 6 week coil check up soon and hoping it hasn’t moved.
I’m still bleeding and honestly sick of it and wish it would just stop. When did everyone stop bleeding for good after their Mirena?

Pretty sure it's two weeks, not six, for no sex. I stopped bleeding after six months. But there's been some random spotting during those six months, never a full period though. Never had any symptoms whatsoever after it got put in. If you've been bleeding for over a week, I'd contact your Dr.

Hey there, I had the Mirena for 5 years. The first few months were regular periods (once or twice maybe heavier and slightly more painful) then eased off after that. I still got periods all the way through having it (depends on the person but you could end up having no periods completely with it eventually) but they were less heavy throughout the years for me.
I used to get the very heavy achy boobs a couple weeks before period came on, and quite irritated down there actually for a day or two as well; was very weird as I'd read about symptoms and irritation wasn't one that I could see. Headaches was another one, that's common with a typical cycle but it was very frequent for me with the coil.
Had it out for 4 months now and all those symptoms have gone away - get achy boobs as you would expect right before period but no more irritation.
I wouldn't worry too much about the bleeding - when I had mine implanted the first lasted about a week or so. Its your body getting used to an unfamiliar device. On your 6 week check they'll examine and make sure everything is in order. Hope that helps! Grin
