Late 'period', brown blood - Any other experiences?

Hi all,
Just wondering if anybody has had any experiences with a late period and then it isn't really like your normal period ?
TMI but mine has been brown with not much blood for the last 3 days so just wondering if pregnancy is possible or if it's wishful thinking.

My friend had two periods that resembled brown sludge. Turns out she was 10 weeks pregnant. Now has beautiful baby 

I had this with my first pregnancy.
Was a bit late coming on but felt 'periody' for a few days beforehand so thought I had PMS. I assumed my body was just being weird because it was only my second month off the pill so wasn't sure if I was even late. Was preparing to test, and then started bleeding, so I didn't. But it was as you described for about 4 days and then stopped (I usually bleed for about 6 or 7 days). I tested on CD 38, just to rule out pregnancy but completely expecting a negative, and got the biggest fattest positive ever.

Thank you for replying!! I'm just scared to test after lots of negatives and don't want the disappointment again. Presumed with the bleeding it was just the start of a period but I feel like it's an unusual one X

Hi just jumping on here because I'm in a similar situation AF was due yesterday and still hasn't shown up, done a few tests all BFN I ovulated between 20th and 23rd OCT so gonna wait a few days and test again on weds night 31st OCT I had some dark brown spotting, Been getting a few PMS symptoms cramping kinda twinges every now and then but nothing like normal period cramps, just hate being in limbo it's my first month off the pill so my body could just be playing tricks on me but I just feel different and so annoying to keep on getting BFN just want AF to show her ugly face so I know! But yeah don't worry your not alone!

@MrsP4 I convince myself of stuff every month so for once I've just accepted it was my period but I'm rarely late and this month meant I was around a week 'late' and it's just been brown. I've read stuff about old blood so I put it down to that but that's not how I usually am. It's not like I was stressed or anything as I was on holiday for 2 weeks so couldn't have been less stressed ha!
It's so frustrating but I darent test for fear of disappointment! X

@CheshEm It's so hard how nothing is textbook and everyone is completely different, give it another couple of days and test, the only way your gonna know, I'm the exact same feel like I don't want to POAS ever again! 😂

I had the same enough to wear a tampon, after day three it vanished altogether, turns out I was pregnant, but of course it could just be a weird period as well x

My implantation bleeds with first two pregnancies were like that.

Yep had this both times I was pregnant! Fingers crossed!

Thank you for your replies - what made you test when this happened? It's the strangest period I've ever had if it is one! X

I already knew I was pregnant due to MAP failure but then had this weird brown bleeding for a few days.
