Is this an evap line?

Hi,

My partner and I have been waiting for an IVF referral for a few weeks as he had a very low sperm count from cancer treatment. I had a colposcopy & biopsy just before ovulation after abnormal smear results and we had sex around ovulation, just after I think. I thought the colposcopy/biopsy might have delayed my period somehow.

My period is now two days late and I have no PMS symptoms but have had heartburn for the past five days, occasional nausea and feeling SO tired. I've POAS but with midday urine and I can see the faintest line, is it an evap?

I will try again in the morning but I'm driving myself insane!! It's darker in real life but only slightly, it's so close to the edge that I'm not sure if it's in the right place. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

was it within the time frame OP? i can see it too but it looks grey to me which can indicate an evap.

MapleSpice · 29/10/2018 23:46

Hi @Orlandointhewilderness yes it was around 3/4 minutes, I didn't see it until I took it into the hallway under the light. I can't tell if it's more grey/purple but my phone is refusing to take a better photo

well it is definitely there and within time is promising! do one in the morning but i would be thinking that is a positive test. do update though!

whyhaveidonethis · 29/10/2018 23:52

I can see it. Definitely POAS with FMU and check. Good luck x

MapleSpice · 29/10/2018 23:54

@Orlandointhewilderness & @whyhaveidonethis thank you! I will definitely update in the morning, do you have any test recommendations please? These are the £1 Freedom cheapies from Asda because I was so convinced they would be negative

Orlandointhewilderness · 29/10/2018 23:57

The pink tests are better i think - FRER are good but i don't know where sells them. Clear blue are expensive and crap and sainsburys own are cheap and crap! Its been a long time since i've needed to do one so i'm not sure.

MapleSpice · 30/10/2018 00:00

@Orlandointhewilderness thanks, apparently you can get them at Boots so I'll go there tomorrow in between clients if the other cheapie isn't any clearer.

It's quite hard to tell on the photo.

I would also suggest a FRER. The only thing you can find with them is that they can show a very faint indent line after the time so you should look for it to be pinkish. But they are very good early on.

Good luck

FieryGhoulie · 30/10/2018 00:20

Looks promising... 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

JellycatElfie · 30/10/2018 07:18

Fc for you

footballagain3 · 30/10/2018 10:51

Can definitely see something. Good luck OP hopes it's your month

Essexmummy88 · 30/10/2018 10:54

It does look near the edge BUT the control line also looks further across than normal so maybe the test is just mialigned. I’d have to run to the pound shop and get some of the strips

MapleSpice · 30/10/2018 17:02

I tried another cheapy this morning and this appeared, can you see it too? It's definitely pink not grey and it's the same thickness as the control line but I swear I'm going mad! They didn't have FRER at the shop so I will go hunting for one tomorrow but have a stash of cheap ones waiting. Still no period, felt a bit sick after a coffee this morning and had to leave most of it. No PMS symptoms which is unusual for me but I do keep getting a sharp pain in my lower right abdomen, it's happened for the past 3/4 days.

That is a positive test!

MapleSpice · 30/10/2018 17:24

@Orlandointhewilderness Oh my, really!? I'm so hoping it is, I could scream I'm guessing I must have ovulated later this month so it's faint still but it's definitely pink, ahh you've made my day!

OP posts:
footballagain3 · 30/10/2018 17:33

My first test with now DD was faint like that. I would say positive to i tested again two days later and the line was much clearer.

MapleSpice · 30/10/2018 17:36

Thank you @footballagain3 that's promising!! I'll keep updating the thread

WhoisyourDaddyandwhatdoeshedo · 30/10/2018 17:40

yep, it looks positive, i'd retest

MapleSpice · 31/10/2018 08:49

No line this morning. I was so dehydrated yesterday when I took the test above and this morning I used FMU but I'd had a lot of water in the evening as I was so thirsty. Would this have any effect? I barely had enough to pee on the stick yesterday but this morning I was peeing forever 😂

I'm so, so confused. I'm five days late now and I feel sick this morning. My boobs are bigger but not painful like when it's PMS, no bleeding or anything. It's probably worse because I'm so hoping that I'm pregnant but the test this morning has really knocked me.

I’d agree I could see a faint line. I’d also say that with lots of fluid it could dilute the hcg hormone. Hcg levels increase every couple of days I think so either try tonight, or first wee of tomorrow morning.
You’d think pregnancy testing would be straight forward but it really isn’t sometimes, especially when we are eager beavers and the waiting game is impossible!
I’ve had really faint lines before, but they’ve all been positive. I have everything crossed for you. I know it’s frustrating, but there’s still a chance until af appears. We are all waiting with you I’m sure x

MapleSpice · 31/10/2018 09:15

@Ozziewozzie thank you ♥️ I will go pick up another test tonight and try it tomorrow morning. I actually have my pre-op assessment for LLETZ today so I don't know what to say to them, they said they need to take a blood sample so maybe they would test anyway?

Why are these things never simple?! I really do appreciate your help and support feel much less alone!

OP posts:
Ozziewozzie · 31/10/2018 09:45

I’m sure if you mention it to them they will check your bloods. A blood test is more definitive if you’re unsure about the line on home tests. But usually within a day or two, I’d bump is sprouting, you’ll see a line. I too learnt to avoid clear blue. Just about everyone says to avoid them. Bizarre such a prominent leader in the field gets away with it especially at that price. FRER are much better in my view. Fingers and toes crossed xx

Ozziewozzie · 31/10/2018 09:46

Ps, they may even have tests at the clinic?!

MapleSpice · 31/10/2018 10:06

@Ozziewozzie thank you, I'll let you know what happens at the clinic later. I hate Clear Blue

Orlandointhewilderness · 31/10/2018 14:18

Fingers crossed for you maple
