When does this become an issue I would see my GP about?
My cycle is between 29-32 days. Today is day 35. We last had unprotected sex three weeks ago.
Tested yeasterday and this morning with a Lloyd’s digital. Both negative.
I’ve had cramps on and off for over a week but no bleeding whatsoever.
I’m just wondering if/when I should see someone about this as it’s strange/worrying.
Thanks!

I’m not sure but I’m in the same boat! Now on day 43 of what is normally a 35 day cycle but when tested on day 41 got a BFN. Think you might be too early for a digital test to give an accurate result?

Paisley2018 · 28/10/2018 09:25

Thanks for your reply!
What test did you use?
Oh do you think so? I bought the digital as didn’t want to stress over faint/imaginary lines.
I’m trying not to think about it and hoping my period shows up so yet I can stop thinking about it.

Sorry my last part made absolutely no sense!
I mean I’m trying to stop thinking about the possibility of being pregnant! Then if my period comes I can just deal with it.

I used first response which most people on here seem to say is most accurate. I know what you mean! My head is saying it’s probably my body doing something unusual but my heart still hoping until period arrives!

Paisley2018 · 28/10/2018 09:44

Yes that’s exactly how I feel.
Are you going to test again or just wait?
I don’t know what to do. I probably won’t make an appointment with my GP - I don’t want to waste their time. I don’t know what they could actually do iykwim!

I’m going to try to hold off until Monday, do another test and if still negative and no period make a gp appt. It normally takes about a week to get an appt at my surgery and figure by that point if I’m not pregnant, period will be late enough to suggest something not right - hoping that’s not the case! What about you? How long have you been trying?

twinkletoedelephant · 28/10/2018 09:53

I've posted before had lots and lots of negative tests for weeks, didn't feel pregnant..... got a very vague line about 10 weeks? Got booked in for a scan about 14 weeks...twin boys will be 10 soon good luck x

Paisley2018 · 28/10/2018 09:58

Sounds like a plan!
I’ve been reading that sometimes we just skip a period entirely for no reason. Great the way our bodies trick us.
I have a DD 7 and DS 4. We weren’t actively trying, just seeing how it goes. Was trying to be casual about it but now I am obsessing and didn’t want to end up like this. Starting to think that by overthinking everything I’ve stressed myself out and this can cause a late period! Arghh!

Wow twinkle that’s a long time for a positive to show! I would have been stressing myself out.

Wow twinkle! That’s amazing! I’m sure I read somewhere that twins can give a false negative because the hormone levels are so high they throw the test off? Now twins would be something else!

Soubriquet · 28/10/2018 12:18

My mum got a negative test all the way through her pregnancy with me

I was so awkward Grin

The only way she knew she was pregnant, was her periods stopped and a scan showed me in there

beibikeiks · 28/10/2018 14:15

Are you taking any supplements etc?

I was late twice in a row and that's very unusual for me. I had very bad headaches, breast soreness and nausea and got my hopes up quite a lot the second time it happened. I was taking the Seven Seas Trying for a baby and I stumbled upon some reviews for these (and the Pregnacare ones) online and read the negative reviews and saw that there are quite a lot of negative reviews actually.

Some women there were describing my exact same symptoms and saying it messed up their cycles. So I stopped taking them and had this very weird period (super short) but the nausea, head aches and breast soreness disappeared completely.
I had no idea this could affect my cycles, I just thought this was folic acid basically. But I'm just taking folic acid on its own now and I feel much better and I'm hoping my cycles go back to normal length 🙂 if not, then at least I got rid off these symptoms by stop taking those pills 😂

Paisley2018 · 28/10/2018 14:32

That’s interesting as I was taking hyaluronic acid supplements. We aren’t actively trying and we use condoms most of the time but got a bit carried away a few weeks ago.
After this happened I stopped taking them as I don’t think they can be taken during pregnancy.
I had been taking them for about a month prior to this - maybe this is the cause of my longer cycle.
Thanks for your input, I didn’t even consider them as a reason and now sounds reasonable.

Have you tried a test that isn't digital? With my first pregnancy I took ages before a digital said pregnant. But the FRER had been giving me positives for about two weeks before that!

Paisley2018 · 28/10/2018 15:25

No I haven’t, I will maybe do that if still no sign of my period. I’m sure the Lloyds digital pack said that it could be used before period is due so I assumed it was quite sensitive.

OP posts:
Paisley2018 · 28/10/2018 15:28

Just checked the box there. It says that can be tested any time of the day from the day period is due. It’s not an ‘early detector’ one actually.
Maybe it’s not that sensitive after all... maybe I’m clutching at straws.

I'd definitely try a normal non digital one. Maybe you implanted late and just haven't built up enough hcg for a digital yet? Even on the ones that say on the day of your period etc aren't 100% :-) good luck OP :-) xx

Paisley2018 · 28/10/2018 18:27

Thankyou! I’m tempted to try a first response test. Only thing putting me off is that even if I did ovulate late, the last time we dtd unprotected was three weeks ago. So this wouldn’t work would it? I think I’m just having a funny cycle!
It’s been strange though as I’ve had some period cramps for well over a week!
