Period 7 days late. Negative pregnancy test

Hi everyone. Long time reader but this is my first post

My cycles are usually very regular despite having PCOS. They’re usually 28 days, with one or two being 29/30 days. I’m currently on cycle day 36 but all pregnant tests are negative (several different brands)

I’m probably desperately trying to look out for any symptom but I have been getting very slight cramps/heaviness like I do just before my period arrives.

I have been measuring my BBT and that has also shown a steady rise after ovulation.

We have been TTC for 15 months now. I came off the pill in July 2017 and my periods returned straight away and have been regular.

I was diagnosed with PCOS 14 years ago and have been on metformin ever since. Before going on metformin my cycles were pretty irregular.

My husband has had his semen analysis which was fine. I have had my day 2 and 21 bloods done last month and my GP said my progesterone was ‘a bit low’ (didn’t get any actual figures) and everything else looked normal. We have been referred to the infertility clinic and the appointment is in 2 weeks time

Sorry this had ended up being quite long but just wondered if anyone had similar experiences/advice. I’m tempted just to wait and see what happens between now and the infertility appointment (but secretly hoping I’m pregnant and I’m some medical mystery where I don’t get a result on hold pregnancy tests)

Being 7 days late and getting negative pregnancy tests sadly means it's extremely unlikely you are pregnant.

However, have you been testing with really diluted urine? Hold it for 4 hours before testing and try a FRER. If still negative, chances of pregnancy are less than 1%.

If you still haven't had a period next week, might be good to consult your GP. Best of luck and hope you get a BFP with the FRER!!

Ps. I've heard of people who don't get positive urine tests and need confirmation via blood tests. Extremely rare though

I had negative tests for two weeks after AF was due then got a BFP. However, I ovulated late according to my dating scan, hence the lateness in picking it up.
