My last period started 18th September and lasted for 4 days and, so far this month, I still haven't come on. My periods are usually pretty reliable with 2/3 days either side. But I wasn't sure if you're supposed to wait 28 days after your period started or finished to be considered late? So not sure if I am late and/or likely to be pregnant. I have ordered some tests but they don't arrive until tomorrow.

I promise I did google this but I got very confusing and conflicting answers!
Thanks in advance.

I had my last period 22nd of September, 28 day cycle usually lasts 3 days and I was pregnant last week, unfortunately I had an early MC on Monday. I'd say it's a high possibility that you are, you count 28 days from the day Af starts if that helps but I'd say your AF should have arrived last week.

AmbridgeGirl · 25/10/2018 22:41

The first day of your period is counted as the first day of your cycle, so it's not relevant how long it last for when working out if you are late or not. Are your cycles normally 28 days? If so and your last period started on the 18th sept then yes it would be classed as late as this is now the 38th day of your cycle. Sounds like doing a test tomorrow is a good idea, if this cycle is longer than your usual ones.

GimbleInTheWabe · 25/10/2018 22:44

Thanks for your response @Dianebz1 and I'm sorry to hear about your early MC

Thanks for explaining it to me. So it's 28days from the day my af started that I should be due (approx) to have af again? So really I should have come on around 16th October then really. I haven't had any symptoms though which is making me feel doubtful. I have 1DC already though so maybe I'm too distracted looking after him to symptom spot!

Sorry I X posted and didn't see your response @AmbridgeGirl, thanks for posting. So looking back through the dates it looks as if my cycle is pretty steady on 29 days so by my reckoning I should have been due on 17th so I'm now 9 days overdue.

@GimbleInTheWabe your welcome and thank you. It's so tough ..

yeah I'd say that sounds about right. I got my BFP on the 17th, AF wasn't due until the 20th. I'd defo test as soon as you get the tests through. I had loads of symptoms, sickness nausea, dizziness etc ..that's why I tested early. All my symptoms disappeared on Monday morning then I started to MC Monday afternoon but I when I went to the hospital I could out my body was also fighting infection so maybe that's why I felt so ill! My HCG levels had dropped a lot when I got tests done also so MC was confirmed as I was to early to get a scan. Let us know how you get on, have you been TTC?

GimbleInTheWabe · 25/10/2018 23:01

Oh gosh @Dianebz1 sounds like you've really been put through it. Are you feeling better now regarding the infection?

We haven't been actively TTC counting the dates etc (DS has only just turned one so he takes up 95% of my working brain!) but we know we want to have DC close together in age so it would be good timing.

The other reason I am still not 100% sure I am pg is that DP pulled out. I know that this is a really terrible contraception method but I also would be surprised if we conceived this way. I'll definitely let you know once I've done the test though. Half of me wants to buy one from the shop in the morning so that I know sooner! Have you been TTC for long?

@GimbleInTheWabe is AF normally on time? Mines is like clockwork, sometimes can be only 1 day late! You never know, maybe some got out before he pulled out! Iv got 2 DS ages 17 and 15, I had 5 MC before I conceived my 17 year old. Iv now been actively trying since August 2016 so its been along time, that was my 1st BFP last week ..least to say I'm feeling drained xx

whyhaveidonethis · 26/10/2018 04:05

@GimbleInTheWabe my ds3 is the result of a pull out!

GimbleInTheWabe · 26/10/2018 16:58

Well I did two tests (clear blue date test) first had the book icon so I must have done it wrong.. second said not pregnant.

Tbh (and I hope this does not come across as insensitive) but I was actually relieved. I have an interview for an internship next week and if I was offered it and was pregnant too I'd have a very difficult decision to make as the internship would be the pathway to a really exciting new career for me.

Gosh, life does get complicated when you grow up doesn't it

Thank you for the advice and support. @Dianebz1 I wish you all the happiness and good luck in the world

@GimbleInTheWabe insure does get complicated! You need to do what's best for you, I'm a great believer in timing ..it will all happen for you when your ready.

Your very welcome and I wish you all the best of luck also xx

Dianebz1 · 26/10/2018 18:45

@GimbleInTheWabe it sure does sorry predictive text xx

GimbleInTheWabe · 28/10/2018 18:52

Sorry to redirect my thread but I'm a bit confused.. I still haven't come on but all subsequent pg tests have comeback negative. I'm always really regular so I don't know if I'm just skipping one or I am pregnant but it's not showing on a test? Though that doesn't seem very likely... by my estimation I am 12 days late

@GimbleInTheWabe I would make a Dr's app. I think anything over a week is considered late? They may do a test there and take bloods xx
