Hey everyone! Looking for some advice really. I will try and make this as short as possible.

I came of the pill Rigevidon 7/8 weeks ago and had my first period Saturday 29th September that lasted for 5 days.

From what I can remember my periods before going on the pill were pretty regular and I presumed they would go back to how they were once I stopped taking the pill.

I started my second cycle since coming off the pill Tuesday 23rd October and it has just about finished today (very light) so that makes it a 3 day bleed when normally it's is 5.

It definitely felt like a period as was bright red, and quite heavy for the first couple of days (which is normal for me) and then went light today to the point where it's just about finished (which is not normal for me) I had the normal cramps etc and they were quite painful I have also had some back ache today but have been feeling SO tired.

I'm just concerned and have been googling things (as you do) and cant establish if this is normal. I'm not using any other contraception as we are TTC. When me and DP last DTD we ensured to do it around the time of Ovulation but I assumed I was out this month due to the fact AF arrived!

So my cycle was 25 days which is shorter than before I went on the pill (normally 28) and my bleed only lasted for 3 days when normally it's 5.

I don't know if I could be pregnant and should do a test or if it's just my cycles getting back to normal since this is only my 2nd cycle since stopping the pill... I'm a bit of a worrier anyway and concerned it could be something serious or is it all normal and I'm just worrying for nothing?

Thank you!

It’s totally normal for your cycles to be irregular coming off the pill. I think the official advice is that it can take up to 6 months to settle down...

Thank you for your response, I think ectopic pregnancy is what is worrying me the most but I think the likely cause is that it's just my periods being irregular due to recently coming off the pill, thank you x

Also the length of your actual bleed is irrelevant. Periods get shorter as you get older on the whole. It's considered a regular cycle if the days from the start of one period to the start of the next is fairly consistent.
