Just wondered if anyone had been to see their GP before starting to TTC? And if so, what your experience was.

I'm (self diagnosed) tokophobic, and I feel I ought to go and find out about mental health support before I find myself pregnant and in need of it!

I went to the gp before ttc as I had very irregular periods and pcos. They did blood tests, had a good general chat and discussed my concerns. I'd definitely go if I was you, you've nothing to lose and hopefully they will be helpful or able to refer/suggest someone who can help. Good luck!

I did, because I needed prescription levels of folic acid for 3 months prior to conceiving, and because I was on medication that isn't compatible with pregnancy.

I spoke to them about it a couple of months before and it was quite helpful; you may find that it’d be more useful to call your local community midwives though.
