Thats it really, had a MC in january, taken till now to feel "ready" to try again. Exited, but also scared! Found the whole MC really traumatic and the worst bit was the whole "will it/won't it" leading up to it!!

hello Ladies, can i join you? I had m/c last week thinking i was 11 weeks but scan showed baby died at 8. its early days but the thought of ttc again soon is what's getting me through all this. i have a question: when do you start your next cycle? ie when is cd1? is it the first day after you stop bleeding or is it the first day you start to bleed in the m/c??

Good luck to you all, and sorry i haven't read through absolutely all the threads, but i do know, AnquaVonUberwald, regarding cats, i really don't think you should worry. If you've been around cats for a long time, the chances are you'll already have picked up toxoplasmosis at some point in the past. just avoid cleaning out the litter tray when ttc and when pg. we have cats and it was not a problem when i was pg with ds, and they're outdoor cats.

Sorry for long post and i hope someone can answer my question! thanks

AnguaVonUberwald · 20/06/2007 09:42

Kazza25, thanks for your encouraging words. I haven't actually had Toxoplasmosis, the doctor tested for it, so could still get it if cats become outdoor cats. (although I know the risk is small)

WRT CD1. Its the first proper day of your period! Not sure about in a MC, I don't know if that would tie into a cycle.

So sorry to hear about your MC, I had a MMC at 8 weeks, though it turned out the baby stopped developing at 6 weeks (still had a heartbeat though)

Kazza: So sorry to hear about your m/c. Big hugs. I hope you are relatively ok. I also had a m/c at 12wks. My GP says to count cd1 as the first day of period after m/c. AF came for me 6wks after m/c. The day that AF came was cd1 of 1st cycle after m/c. It's a bit more difficult to pinpoint cd1 immediately after m/c. GP suggested to count day of m/c as cd1 even though this wouldn't be a proper cycle and to expect AF between 4-6 wks after m/c. HTH.

Keepign everything crossed for you my1stbaby.

Sorry you are feeling so down Angua-don't worry too much about Toxoplasmosis. As far as I know, you just can't clean out litter tray for 9 months- no hardship there!

Kazza- hello. Sorry t hear about your mc. Thinking of you.

No news here. Getting lots of twinges...is this usual? Was booked for TVS on 28th because of PCOS and never had the chance to cancel it before mc, so figure I'll go and they can double check that I am "all cleaned out" as MIL so tactfully put it!

Thanks Ladies. back to the waiting game......for ov.....for af, for ov, for af, for ov........!! BUt hoping that concentrating on that will help me get over the m/c. maybe I'm mad and should get over it before ttc again. who knows, there's no right/wrong answer, and reading your posts its like we all have to get though it our own way, but this thread is such a great support!

AnguaVonUberwald · 20/06/2007 17:09

Thanks flosspot, I think its just the "thing I have focused on" if you see what I mean.

Then again, a bit annoyed tonight, as its the first night of "high" on the fertility monitor and DH is going out for a couple of drinks after work.

Now I know that its not peak on teh monitor yet, and I know that its fine for him to go drinking after work, plus its only a couple, but the timing does seem spectacularly bad!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, at "high" on the fertility monitor, waiting for peak. Fingers crossed!!!

Crossing mine too- it might make all the difference!

AnguaVonUberwald · 25/06/2007 16:38

Still not "peak" on the test kit. How is it going for everyone else?

Kazza, I just had a MMC (and an ERPC last Monday) and I could totally identify with your post from 20/06 -I had and have exactly the same questions as you. I have decided to start TTC again immediately too. Have you had any luck yet? I have heard from some people that there is a peak fertility time just after a MC but I am not sure whether it is true or not. Ax

Hi
I had a mc last week and have had a scan today to say everything is back in place blah blah blah. Anyway, I hope someone might be able to give me a brief run down on the whole ttc thing again - I know about the birds and the bees obviously just not the making the most of the fertile times (this pg/mc was an accident but it made both of us realise we do want to have another child - having a break for a bit and will then try). Anyway I need to get back in touch with my cycle etc but have never tried to pinpoint ovulation, never used an ovulation kit - where does one start with this???

Love

Hi smiles. Sorry about your MC

I'm going to sound like a right nerd but I found this website and it will tell you EVERYTHING you need to know about fertility (possibly a bit too much actually!). All you need to subscribe and they send you all the lessons. You don't have to do them all if you don't want to, you can just read about the stuff that interests you. There is also a mini-quiz at the end of each lesson which you can take to see whether you paid enough attention! But again, you don't have to do that either.

Good luck TTC! xxx

Thanks littlesquirt. I agree, quite nerdy but a whole new world out there of cervical mucous and temperature taking! Where does the thermometer go! - sorry just joking. Sounds like a whole load of fun, must admit though to tmi on the cm bit. Might give it a try though. Not sure whether to do it this month due to situation but might start next month. Has anyone bought a monitor gadget thingemy bob - it might be less fun than checking your mucous but a little less messy - am open to your experiences!

Thanks
