When to take a digital

Shockingly I have got these today. We’ve been trying for 2 years (unexplained) and were planning to discuss a plan for clomid and/or IUI whilst waiting for IVF at our next appointment.

I’ve had an awful month and really thought we were out. AF due Tuesday, not sure what possessed me to test today. This would be 11DPO. BFN on internet cheapie and lines maybe just the same colour on ovulation strip test.

Want to (hopefully) confirm with a digital and have one in the cupboard. 12DPO seems early to do a digital but those lines look stronger than I would have thought on the FRER.

Should I chance it tomorrow or hold out for Tuesday or Wednesday?

I think they count! Congratulations!

I read an article that said Evap lines are never pink/blue only grey so colour = preg. Maybe you're further along & getting periods?

Rightnow1245 · 21/10/2018 21:54

Congratulations they are 100% positive xx

DianaBlythe · 21/10/2018 22:12

Thanks - happy (and shocked) that they are positive. Just thinking if I should wait until AF day to do a digital. I have one in the cupboard and would like to see it in writing but I think they’re less sensitive and don’t want to upset myself either!

I took a digital on Wednesday... after a cheap one came back negative. After 11 months of trying I don't know what made me do it as I have had them in the cupboard for about 5 months but I did one and got my bfp at 9dpo! Regretted doing it early though as I've been so nervous ever since! Line still only just showing up on the cheapies x

Rightnow1245 · 21/10/2018 22:30

I was getting a fainter line than that and when I took a digital it came back 1-2 weeks.. I know it’s nerve racking but it will come up with pregnant xx

DianaBlythe · 21/10/2018 22:37

Thanks everyone, I think I’ll do it in the morning. Congratulations both of you!

havefaith19 · 22/10/2018 17:23

Congratulations op!!! Thanksxx

DianaBlythe · 22/10/2018 18:11

Was racing around going to work and didn’t do it as it was downstairs. Did a FRER this morning, still positive, and now positive on a cheapie this evening. Will definitely do the digital tomorrow morning! Thanks so much for all the support.

Rightnow - congratulations anyway and fingers crossed for you!

@DianaBlythe I was due my AF on Saturday but I tested early with first response last Thursday and got my BFP and then tested with clear blue digital and it came negative, I tested everyday with first response and my lines got stronger so on Saturday I tested again with clear blue digital and got my 1-2 weeks pregnant! Unfortunately I started to bleed this afternoon 😪 I'll show my results in my picture ..hope that help and I wish you all the very best of luck xxx

@Dianebz1 I am so sorry to hear that. It can be truly awful this reproductive business. I’m not sure how sure you are about things and if there’s hope left, but such big wishes from me and try to be kind to yourself.

@DianaBlythe thank you, I'm not feeling very hopeful atm, my midewife says Iv to monitor the bleeding and got to A&E if it gets worse and retest in a weeks time if the bleeding stops. Iv been TTC for 30 months, I was due to go for my Hycosy test in the 1st of November then I got my BFP so I guess I'll just have to carry on with my hospital appointments and hope for the best in the future. I'm 4+2 today so I don't think it's implantation bleeding! Its not to much blood, just enough to colour the toilet paper when I wipe and some on my pants (sorry tmi) I'm trying to keep hopeful but it's hard, might take another test in a few days to see what the lines are like xx

DianaBlythe · 23/10/2018 11:26

@dianebz1 - I have known several people who have bled in early pregnancy and been OK. It’s such a frightening time and I’m not sure how helpful me saying that is. I’m glad you’ve phoned the midwife and had some advice. Sounds like we just don’t know at the moment. Sending lots more wishes.

I did do the digital, it says pregnant 1-2. It’s showing on a cheapie now but looks fainter this morning than yesterday evening. I probably need to step away and just leave it and see.

@DianaBlythe thank you, I'v just got out of hospital, it's confirmed that I had a MC 😢 my hcg levels are really low now, almost gone. Please try not to check, I did the same but I only drove myself crazy all week ..wishing you all the best, keep me updated on how you get on. Hopefully it won't take me as long next time. Good luck xxx

DianaBlythe · 23/10/2018 20:52

@dianebz1 - I am so incredibly sorry, that’s heartbreaking at any time but your 30 months of trying and fertility investigations pending make it even worse. I really hope you get a sticky one soon and that in the meantime you are well looked after.

@DianaBlythe thank you for your kind words, I'm doing a lot better tonight. The bleeding and cramps are almost stopped, it got really bad this morning so I phoned the midwife and she asked me to come straight down, the hospital were brilliant! I also found out that I had an infection and got prescribed antibiotics. How are you doing? Hope all is well with yourself xxx

DianaBlythe · 23/10/2018 23:14

@dianebz1 I’m so glad they were good to you and you’re on some antibiotics and physical symptoms are easing.

Nothing to report here really. Feel fine and trying to step away from the tests and quietly get through the next couple of weeks. Terrified obviously.

Take it easy xx
