How often to DTD?

Just that really. I’ve seen people say every other day in fertile period, others every day. Is there a benefit to any particular pattern? I’d have thought as much as possible but it doesn’t seem to look that way?

Hopeful bump?

The advice says every second day, then every day during your fertile window.

DP and I dtd twice in the week we fell pregnant.

Yakadee · 20/10/2018 12:49

Similar to pp. We dtd every other day until fertile peak then every day x

SpadesOfGlory · 20/10/2018 12:51

Every other day is probably enough. We dtd twice the week we conceived...the day before and 3 days before! Not sure which one worked lol

KinCat · 20/10/2018 13:21

We dtd once in my last fertile window (very late at night on the day I ovulated). I got pregnant but it didn't stick. The previous couple of cycles we'd had much more sex and not a whiff of a positive.

I wouldn't stress about it too much as long as you're having sex around the right time (unless you've been trying for ages with no results).

Just bear in mind not to concentrate too much on the 'fertile window'
You may not ovulate when you are meant too and could end up missing it each month.
I ovulated just after my period and that's when I fell pregnant 😊 good luck xx

Thanks all. I do want to be aware of it as we don’t usually have a huge amount of sex so will need to be actively doing it a lot more if we’re to have any hope of conceiving. DP likes a plan though so we’re definitely better to have one.

Having used natural cycles for the last 6 months I do at least seem to have a very regular, albeit short, cycle, so I’ve got that on my side.

@IsTheRainEverComingBack I know fully how you feel, Iv been TTC for over 2 and a half years now. Some months me and my partner tried every night then other months it was every second night. Anyways back in September I started collage to complete becoming a chef, so work and collage made me extremely tired! I also started going to the hospital for tests and I got a letter through to go for a Hycosy test (dye put threw my tubes to check for blockages) so I think a mixture between work and collage then made me relax a bit and not think to much about it ..also my letter for the hospital made me put things to the back of my mind because I thought I'd wait until I got the procedure was done! Anyways because I was so tired we only had sex one day the week I ovulated and I got my BBP 4 days ago! I was supposed to go for my Hycosy test on the 1st of November only 11 days from now! For me I think the best thing is to try and relax and not think about it as much, I know how hard that is because iv been there constantly testing, thinking I had symptoms for the last 30 months then one little thing in my life changed that made me forget about it for a while and then it suddenly happened. I'm 37 btw so I really thought my time was over ...I wish you all the best of luck xxx

@IsTheRainEverComingBack having regular cycles is good so at least you have a good idea when you could fall pregnant 😊
My cycles were quite long and never on time so I think my ovulating was all over the place. I personally think it was a stroke of luck that I fell pregnant otherwise I would of still been concentrating on my fertile window and it was never right for me lol xx

Starrygirl12 · 27/10/2018 03:33

My husband and I went through a frozen embryo
Cycle and in that they said every two days is best to allow the sperm to be of the best quality. When my husband gave his sample
we were told not to do anything for at least two Days but no more than that as too long can effect it too.

Basically we followed their advice when we were ttc naturally every two days especially as I didn't know exactly when I ovulated and we conceived naturally I am now 17 weeks pregnant. Good luck 😊 x

The first time (mc) we had sex twice in that week, not sure when I ov'd though, either just after the first time or just after the second.
This time, we did it every other day and I reckon I ov'd the day of the last session, e.g. I ov'd Sunday and we had sex Weds, Fri and Sun.
