Humble pie for one please

I owe you all an apology. I've always looked at the conception board with a tiny bit of a raised eyebrow. I've never understood the "am I pregnant?" posts... Just do a test! The internet doesn't know!

But, oh God, I'm sorry! I get it now!

My period is 3-6 days late (my cycle is 26-30 days, so hard to be 100% accurate), two tests have been negative. But I have the weirdest metallic taste in my mouth, and I can't sleep for wondering.

So, I'm sorry, but I'm throwing it open. Who thinks pregnant, and who thinks the metallic taste is a side-effect of my naproxen/omeprazole combo?

Have you had lots of unprotected sex in the last few weeks ? If so, it's more likely than if you have had no sex ! or just once !

Well, as a matter of fact...

I get the metal taste every cycle. Weirdly since we started TTC in June. I usually get it in the last 1-2 weeks of my cycle so I can only presume it is progesterone causing it and I have just never noticed it before.

Our bodies can be mean things.

You probably ovulated late. At even 3 days late most would have either a positive test or a period.

There are stories on here of people who didn’t get a positive pregnancy test until they were quite far on with the pregnancy but the vast majority of people who post here with a late period but a negative pregnancy test turn out not to be pregnant, sorry.

It’s usually just late ovulation/late period. It happens even to people with regular cycles (me included).
